Of course it's essential. Stay away from the SIA standard.
It's unfit for purpose.
I lost my license due to being banned, does that mean its not worth doing a cp course at this time, is there companys that will hire. thanks.
Of course it would be best if you have one but if your not doing the driving (ie RST) and you can get to the job on time then you dont need it. But you may come unstuck if your asked to go and get something from the shops and you can't walk there. you will also miss the driving side of the CP course unless its all on private land and they will let you do it but their insurance prob won't cover you.
You have to get something from the shops and you can't walk......Well I have to say that is the most ridiculous reason I have heard for not having a driving licence. Ridiculous advice!!!!
According to the SIA you don't need a license.
It's not that you CAN'T drive (is that correct)
it's just your a little foolish over how or when you should drive.
But the SIA says your fine.
To get a CP license it seems all you need is the money in some cases, nothing else seems to restrict others from application.
Not even a criminal record. Idiocy, poor health, ability or common sense.
The fact that you can spell seems to put you in the top 10 percentile I would say.
Driving is the least of the skills you need to work with the rich and famous.
To make yourself more employable the more skills the more attractive you are.
It is the least of the skills required in the job role but it is a skill that if you don't have you should not be operating in CP full stop.
As Cole Pfeiffer once said - "They go together like traffic and weather".
It is an expected skill as walking is and we shouldn't even be discussing this topic.
I would never employ anyone who cannot drive for whatever reason.
