We had a team on the second vessel and heard the first attack on VHF - team stood to - warning shots were fired.... They also returned fire which was interesting intelligence.

Useful info tho was what came from bridge team watching through binos, initial single POB - tarpaulin over rest of boat - then another 4 popped up at just under 700 mtrs - all holding noisy toys....

No motherships present, and probably just chancers seeing if much had changed.... But useful to re-invigorate the need for alertness and not complacency.

    Cheers

Sounds like they might well be probing in order to see if there are now vessels that have literally 'dropped their guard' and dispensed with embarked armed teams?

Given the timelines involved, I think it would be a fair assumption to say that there must now be a considerable amount of 'ex-pirates' who are now sat looking at an ever decreasing pile of dollars which were gained well over 18 months to 2 years back?

When times are tough, the majority of predators will certainly consider returning to old hunting / feeding grounds if other avenues are not bearing fruit...
