    Hello.

Could you advise me how the course is so expensive when certification is only 90 pp through city and guilds? I have heard this course is all powerpoint presentation, and inside with no practical apart from a very basic chart lesson. I did hear the other practical that happens was CQB ship clearing drills inside the classroom/office.

Also you are a training company how can you train on some particular subjects if you are not an operational company?

    Regards

Most Brit companies will be going down this route guys so if you want to continue in maritime do the course.

But please avoid 3rg. They have been actively pushing this into the industry for a while. Don't reward their efforts with your hard earned money. Find a cheap alternative, there will be some soon enough.

Are you actually required to have this qualification to work in the MARSEC industry now?

As previously stated by myself on this forum this will be the way forward and the course has the blessing of the MCA. Leedsrhinos i know you did the old MSO course with G4S on another thread and i did tell abt this course coming into effect. However some companies are not adapting as yet but in time this will be an industry minimum qual with STCW95 for maritime.

I remember you mentioning it Trublue. I know a couple of companies are pushing it but as far as I knew it wasnt an actual requirement for employment.

G4S are preparing the course in the next month or so.

It just seems in the security industry the goal posts change every 5 mins and as soon as someone has an idea of a skill/ course then 500 course providers invent courses and make completion of them a requirement to work for them when actually they are not needed.
