Around 2 months ago, I stupidly had a post-birthday joint with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Or at least, I almost did. His parents were in, so we decided to go outside to his car (again, stupidly). After what seemed like a year taking to roll the bloody thing, we sparked up. Promptly, around 5 seconds later, the police turned up. now this is the second time I got caught first time you get a warning second time you have to pay a fine which I did so the matter ended there mind you I have stopped smoking weed for good anyway
Now, present day. I've just finished a security officer course and waiting for exam results. When I get them back (they were pretty damn easy, so I'm very sure I passed), I then have to apply for an SIA license to work. However, to get the SIA license, I have to go through a CRB check, or ever an 'enhanced' CRB check (I'm not sure which, yet).
When they do the CRB check, they apparently ask you to tell them about any convictions cautions before hand. I need to know whether I should tell them about the street caution regarding canibus or just leave it if it doesn't show up in the check (I'd just much rather forget about the whole thing myself).
If it does show up, will it affect me getting the license? Thanks in advance

Hmmm, I wonder. You said it was your second offence, you call yourself "soldier", was the first time you got caught anything to do with you now not being a soldier and trying to get a security job?
Hi LittleWoman right the way the law works is you will be given a warning
If you are stopped for a second time then you will be issued with an on the spot fine for £80 and a ‘Penalty Notice of Disorder’.
This information will be logged on the Police National Computer database. Whatever your age if you are caught with cannabis for the third time then you will be arrested and charged which will result in
imprisonment Now I don't have a criminal record !! I like to work a couple years in the security industry and after that join the army i am not a soldier yet however I wanna be one and aspire to be a general one day !
Don't have a criminal record? If you have a caution, then. er, yes you do I'm afraid.
Yes declare it - if you don't then you're lying and will be found out.
Maby join the army 1st an do a tour to c if u can even handle that b4 jumpin into cp.. An lay of the weed u get piss tested every other month in the army..
My advice is pretty straightforward. Stop taking illegal drugs, make choices that you will be proud of. Do not under any circumstance lie to the SIA. I do not know you but reading your post it would seem you have a bit of growing up to do. Take that for what it's worth, I do not judge you but that's the impression you give. I wish you luck in whatever you choose to do.

Let's be honest with each other! You been caught twice?? Yes! So why on earth would someone take you on in the security industry with the trust of looking after persons or property when you are struggling to look after yourself? I doubt very seriously and if you were honest you would admit that it wasn't your first and second time ever smoking a joint!!! If it were your first and second times you got the short straw as it never happens that way. The police came 5 seconds after what took like a year to roll it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm as I say you must be extremely unlucky.
Don't be offended by my position! you posted the topic with a hope of getting honest advise. Why not go to a treatment program, build up some credible witness who can say that yes you been to treatment and have stayed clean. I sure as hell wouldn't want you in the military as a reefer smoker.
Accept responsibility for what you did and stop making excuses. And yes do be honest with the SIA about your issues you have discussed. You asked for advise, I have been as honest as I can be.
If not then crack on mate, I wish you luck with your ambition.
I understand that among the great generals of history, Alexander the great was partial to a bit of wine, Ghengis Khan used to have enormous tents with a very low roof with a bonfire of 'cannabis' in the middle, where him and his mates would literally lie down and get stoned. Napoleon Bonaparte liked a bit of brandy and General Custer was apparently partial to a bit of opium; and we all know that General Patraeus is partial to a bit of crack on the side.
I think it's only fair to mention that they managed to have an established career before they started toking so you just might have got things the wrong way around. But thanks for the laugh mate.
Only a General?
Why sell your self short mate
