Default Close Protection Medical Standards 2017

    Share
    Hello All,

I would like to ask a question regarding pre-employment medical screening for close protection jobs.
What type of information do you have to disclose on a pre-employment questionnaire?

Are there any “bars” or specifics that would stop you from taking on a CP role?

I have completed pre-employment health / medical questionnaires in the past, but not for close protection officer positions, is there a lot of difference?

Does anyone have an example of what is asked or required?

Lastly, when some companies and organisations ask for a “pre-employment medical” do they just want you to complete the paperwork and return it with maybe confirmation from your g.p?

Or do some companies have a policy that they want you to complete a medical with a medical professional of their choosing?

All experiences and information regarding these issues would be much appreciated, especially from guys who have worked maybe for more than one company in a CP role.

    Thanks in advance.

This is all I have had to do apart from once I had to get a extra medical which consisted of blood pressure, eye sight and a few extra questions I'm sure.

Nothing to worry about if your fit and healthy.

Thanks for the input mate much appreciated. The company that asked you for extra info like blood pressure and an eyesight test.

Did you have to get your blood pressure checked by your g.p then get them to do you a letter with the results?

And the same with the eyesight, did you have to get a optician to confirm the details in writing?

I only ask because as I said in the original post, I was trying to understand if all the paperwork and medical details, are just a matter for the applicant and his or her g.p?

Or if some companies actually do their own medical examinations, with their own approved medical staff?

I guess the criteria varies from company to company.

    Thanks again.

Normally it's just a tick box exercise from the GP.
When I went to Iraq I was given forms with questions that I took to my gp and he filled in and signed. Basically saying I was fit for duty and have never had any prior health conditions.

The eyesight and blood pressure was for my current job with the government. They had a nurse that carried it out.
