ISS Training Ltd review the Blackeye Camera

Novetic - On the time lapse function, if it was set for one shot every 10 secs with a 64GB card, how long would it last, on its internal battery? and if used with one of the intelligent batteries?
Also - Could it be timed to do, say 0600 - 2359?

Hello David-s

Thanks for your question

A 64GB Blackeye camera will record around 1,123,200 images (camera set to not over write oldest data).

This would equate to the following recoding times for the memory.

1sec image recoding rate = 13 days
10sec image recording rate = 130 days

This is assuming the camera is recording all the time at the set interval. It is also possible to schedule recording start and stop times which would extend the maximum recording length. For your time of 0600 to 2359 this would be 18hrs per day resulting in a recording length of 173days or just short of 6 months.

The internal battery is designed to power the camera for short term deployments lasting a maximum of around 18hrs. With a 10 second recording rate the internal battery would last longer but probably less than 24hrs.

for longer deployments an external power source would be required to run the camera, this can be a 12v battery / our Intelligent Battery or solar (non covert deployment).

If you would like more information / example images etc please get in touch.

Matt
