Hello Bagdad Bandit Mcduff here, just wanted some information, trying to get to Bagdad with CRG wanted to know what the crack was out there, quiet or what mate

Hello Mate,
Before you get out and put pen on your terms of service, do your homework, what type of employment you want to undertake? see what companies have to offer? so phone around and do your homework talk to friends in the industry or if you are in Iraq , Afghan, London or europe find people out and ask them, there are also usefull forums that offer good advice.
you have a great tool within the military is the career transition partnership, and questonline they direct you to reputable companiesand also give freat advice on how to make the best use of you ELCAS credits.
if you want further advice look up the companies on this forum and ring them.
I hope that has been informative and good luck with your future career

Hi Mate,
Afghan is a hellish lot safer than iraq or a good tooll for easing into the HECPO side of life, Armorgroup are always interested in good guys from the military WITH an SIA, I was at Lashkar Gar, the teams down there over the last year or so have changed and for the better from the management down to the operater is a good atmosphere it is a 9 on 3 off rotation but if you can get to Khandahar (slipper City) would be even better.
watch what you ask for dude? and definatley look at the risks before you go, the money is good the lads are the better. the losses are hard

hi Macduff,
Cr nowadays almost exclusively hire from their own HECPO course so unless you have done that or worked for them inthe past you might be at a sticky wicket...
Good news is that there are many others out there recruiting presently and they have numerous different jobs and better pay and conditions on many occasions I might add.
Dont know your background or details so I cant try to steer you in another direction.
As for the quietness of Baggers , well in short it isnt known as Baghnasty for anyother reason, it goes through fits and starts as far as insurgency and activity is concerned, TTPs change like the wind and some areas go from green to red on an almost daily basis and then revert back to green the following week.... in short are attacks still happening ... yes, is it dodgy.... yes ..... is there a possibility of getting killed .... unfortunately yes.

Hi, i've heard that to work overseas such as Iraq, you do not need to pay all the money for the hostile enviroment courses and all you need is the level 3 cpo grade. Is this true?

Hi Lee , That is true to some degree and not necessarily true to others....

Let me explain, some companies dont require anything if your recent history is strong enough and you have recently completed deployment or relevant military service. even a level 3 is not always necessary for some roles.

HECPO is not a requirment either however if you are out of touch for a while or you wish to hit the ground runing so to speak it is a good way of getting into the groove and recapping skills from the past.
In many respects a level 3 is a bit tits for many roles in Iraq for instance but some companies require it as part of the contract such as FCO roles.... why is gods only guess as CP and PSD are as different as dogshit and custard.... but then again a lot of the contracts come down to insurance coverage and level 3 is a training standard.
HECPO is good for some companies as it shows that the applicant has a working knowledge of tactics used and TTPs of the enemy and not to mention has recent tactical firearms and counter ambush drills training.
Mainly HECPO is a skill set that takes a bit of time to get used to and as such it is a good course to attend.
Hope that answers?

Interesting?

not really,
In most eyes cp changed after iraq
close protection in the (normal world) commercial/industry such as UK and London just for example.

And Psd is protection in highrisk environments for ex: Iraq, Afghan.

In my eyes its still close protection, but many forgets that the word close protection did came from the Military, when the civilian protection has always been known as bodyguard
