12345, That's hard to answer! It depends on the person, and their ability to write an essay, although they are not too bad at 1500 words each. I would say that if you could spend 3/4 hours a week on the essay and some more time reading, then you should be ok. You have 2 assignments at a time...

    Rates of pay

What for maritime work? I disagree. These days no one is retiring from the SAS then going on to do transits for £100 a day... Then they would still need to do more training to get the ticks in the boxes they require to satisfy clients I'm currently in a good job in Africa that I got through...

    Rates of pay

So then how do the employers in Poole get to hear about these guys? I think your wrong that they will find the good guys without any application process, no one is going to chase anyone to do work for them, no with the amount of guys looking for work. Even getting a mate within another company...

What are the 5 Principle Management Skills Of A Security Manager.?

There are some good answers above, although, I'm surprised to see communication listed only once. As a security manager, you will be required to communicate with different groups of people from directors in the board room, to security officers on the ground. Good communication skills are...

What was the first essay again? The purpose of security management? Just write to manage security.... Or look into Risk Mitigation as an encompassing term to describe the purpose. Sent from my iPhone using Close Protection World

More training for me... don't mind if I do! Does it work for you?

Bubba, I'd be interested to know who's running the course your on? I've been doing a fair bit of CPD myself, and although a lot of it hasn't benefited me in my current role, after being out of education since school, it has given me the confidence to progress with my learning onto a degree...

Yogachick, What I think they are looking for here, is a poster aimed at the demographic and cultural group of the type of people that normally work for the retail company. For instance, I chose motor factors Halfords, who normally employ guys in their twenties, and used the italian job movie...

    Ebola Virus

littlewoman, it's because of fear of the unknown. All through training, deployments etc you get used to the idea that something like that could happen but that your skills and drills can mitigate the risk, where as with disease, theres not a lot you can do about it, and unless a CMT probably...

CP licensing stats - the ones that aren't on the SIA website

Interesting post. To add to it, there's also a lot of guys doing maritime security that are cp licensed, and I also know some lads in Iraq, who haven't bothered renewing their licence as the companies that they are now with do not require it.

Yet more Ambrey pay cuts !

Paddy, I understand what you're saying, however not all courses are the same. Look at CP courses as prime examples, a cheap course under someone with little/no real knowledge or a course with a well known company with good instructors behind them.
