I served 8 years in the RN, have been working as a Cisco IT Consultant for the past few years and have been thinking of a career change for some time into this area of expertise.
I am interested in MARSEC due to my naval background and was just keen to find out if there is any chance of me getting into this or if it is closed to all but a certain few.

Qualifications
Not sure what quals would be relevant. Any gained during active service would have expired by now. Although, along with your service number, there are some skills you learn that stay with you for life. I think my Sea Survival training is still valid though, (STCW95).
