    HD Wireless

Is there such a thing as transmitter and receiver that can handle HD images? I already have an SD one but it means that I'm stuck with an SD dome camera in my mancave, and I'd rather have an HD (ok AHD) camera, but the SD wireless link won't handle it!! Any help appreciated :-)

Anyone heard of "KAPTURE" DVR's ?

Hi, thanks again for your reply. There is no-where to plug anything in that could control the unit, ie, no usb, no serial/parallel ports, etc. Only vids in/out, audio in/out, etc. It really is ancient. I've now handed it back to them and they can deal with it. Thankyou for your time. Phil

Anyone heard of "KAPTURE" DVR's ?

Thanks Tom. There does not appear to be anywhere to log onto the system, it just boots up and does (or doesn't) do its own thing. There's only a row of buttons on the front, usual transport buttons, and some up/down, left/right, quad/normal, etc type buttons. certainly no numerical keypad, or...

Anyone heard of "KAPTURE" DVR's ?

My friends DVR (probably out of the Ark) is messing about. He's very vague about it (Not too clued up methinks). So I said I'd have a look at it. It seems to basically work ok, but upon entering the menu system, virtually nothing can be altered, ie date, etc. Some of the menus do allow info...

Change in Police Driver Training for Level 1

Which may well put you back in view......lol I do not profess to know anything about surveillance driving, I'm learning the hard way........which as some rightly point out, involves advanced driving at times, especially the advance party, or for "leapfrog" moves. But I was up to speed with...

Change in Police Driver Training for Level 1

The irony of all these course is that on a Police driving/motorcycle course, you are taught to drive in a very particular way, for obvious reasons. You then shove a seasoned surveillance operative on a refresher driving/bike course, and he/she has to suddenly learn to drive/ride in completely...

In Car CCTV System - Advice Required Please

Thanks for that info Phil. What is the DVR you're using? Can you give any details of HDD such as SATA/IDE, GB size and expected run times, continuous/motion, etc. If you'd rather pm me with this info, then please feel free. Regards Phil B

In Car CCTV System - Advice Required Please

Those were pretty much my thoughts on the subject too, but I wasn't sure they were correct. If nowt turns up from any other source, as you say, they are pretty cheap, which makes them expendable (to a certain degree), and if I can mount (suspend) them adequately, 95% of the time, they're going...

In Car CCTV System - Advice Required Please

Have pm'd him, thanks. When you say "any of the mainstream DVR's", are you referring to just "mobile" ones, or ones designed to sit in a nice warm building/house, (or anything but a rattly vehicle)....lol

In Car CCTV System - Advice Required Please

Just spoken to who I believe may be my nearest supplier, (MAS at Birkenhead) and they tell me that Avermedia no longer make the EB1304 (net) as they don't want to compete at the lower end of the market !! This may be the case, or just sales talk..........!! They don't know of any other mobile...

....and there's more.......... Or indeed if anyone else has any suggestions for a mobile DVR. Must be 4ch (with 1 audio), backup output available (ie usb), hopefully D1, will be using 500Gb HD, (unless advised otherwise). For use in the lovely UK climate. Max use probably 12 hrs static at a...

Kitting out a van help needed!!

Hi there, just seen this thread. Have there been any developments? I am also undertaking pretty much the same project, ie kitting my van out for manned surveillance ops. So many things to take into account, it's doing my poor little head in. Philbuck

In Car CCTV System - Advice Required Please

Hi tomengineer, I'm also interested in this system, but more specifically the EB 1304 MOB. Do you have a shop/office where it's possible to view/hear the gear running !! I'm interested in the noise levels because it's going to be overt monitoring. I see your sig states Chester. I'm also Cheshire...
