  • I wouldn't say that the course was physically hard but due to the high pass mark for each module (min 75% for each practical and theory) you feel you need to revise, revise and more revise!!! The days are long for example......we were up around 530 ech morning for unarmed combat for an hour, then after a quick shower etc....we were then straight into what ever lessons we had. We would finsh around 1730/1800 then scoff then personally I was on my bed revising until 2200/2300 for the next mornng's test. It was like this pretty much the whole way through hence why it isn't just an attendance course.
Regarding grad rate - I believe 4/5 out of the 15 on the course didnt graduate. Some used up all their remedial's and some just didn't make the grade. One of the bloke and one women failed the fitness test as they couldn't do one single overhand pull up!!! You don't get a second chance I'm afraid, so you have been warned.

    hope this helps
I assume you are on about Ronin South Africa NOT Ronin UK??

The Ronin network is pretty good. If you graduate you have access to the database, where vacancies pop up quite frequently. There are also a list of companies and there contact details in which you can send your Cv off to. Like anything no course guarantees work so its mainly about who you know not what you know.
I the course was very demanding and for each module the pass mark is very high. You get three remedial s (failing a module) after that you fail the course, so you will need to come back at another expense to complete what you failed (if you want to that is). THIS is not an attendance course!!!!

    Hope this helps
Hi, Im interested in Ronin. How is the ronin network? Did help you get a job? How hard was the training? What physical training can I do to prepare?
I would try expanding on your profile mate ie your quals, experiences and your background. You'll be supprised how many members on here who will view your profile. First impressions mean everything especially in this game!!!
Do you have military of law enforcement experience?

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply buds, I sort of put a profile up with regards to what I think is right.
    must keep in touch buds.
    Hi Lee,

Ronin SA was awesome......it definitely isn't an attendance course! It was pretty full on from word go. Ronin SA is very recognisable within the industry and I believe graduating from this course will give you the best chance of obtaining work.
In regards to finding work after graduation.......I was lucky that I found work straight away (right time right place)however, I have known people that have waited months to bag some work.
You might want to create a profile on this site as there are a lot of experienced men and women on here who can give you advice. People might be a bit reluctant to help and offer advice if they don't know anything about you! What work are you looking for and what's your background?

    Vinny
    Hey Mile,

There is still a lot of work out here but like anything.....it who you know not what you know! Come this Sept the MOI will be issuing the new licences for private security firms, so obviously this could have a knock on effect in regards to work. I do think especially for new blokes it will be some what harder to bag that first contract. Let's hope In the near future that Syria produces some work!

If it's something that you are really looking to get into, then your have plenty of time to start networking via this site, attending open days and time to research CP courses. I would recommend doing more med course as this would be a huge advantage.

Feel free to ask any questions matey

I’m lee from S A, I’m deciding on doing a career change into cp work.
I see u did the ronin sa 5week cp course.
Have u any advice for me please???
I have heard all good about and will do it, The only hassle or problem will be finding work afterwards for me, Did you manage to get some decent contract work after the course ???
Will this be a good company to go with as regards to the qualifications and getting a decent job offer overseas?
    Thank you

    Hi Jared,

The Ronin graduate database is okay. Since completing my course in May this year there hasn't been much on there database, relevant to what I'm looking for. They do have alot of VIP advertisements but not Hostile work.

    Hope this helps

    Vinny

    Regards

    Jared

    Woody
    Cheers tengaboy,

I'm glad all is good your end. LOL older and wiser.........very true!!!!!! I hope one day I'll be saying that.
I'm hoping to do HE work for around 2 ish years then hope to get work in London.

All the best mate. I will do us proud :)
    Hi Vinny,
I've been in the game for a few years now and , so far, have been ok work-wise. Built up a good client base, all non-HE because I'm older and wiser and , to be honest, the sight of a creaky old Rock trying to run around with the young bloods would be humiliating. I do CP in London mostly with some security CP driving for various people and it's all good.
Being ex-Regiment makes life easier as there is a lot of respect out there for R.A.F. regiment fella's and you should find that a good intro' for future work. Keep the standards we we blue-beret guys take as normal up, stay shiny and you'll do well . Cheers and all possible best
    Cheers
