    End of year Equipment Review

I carry a TAM note book in my top left jacket pocket inside my smock. In my TAM I have some key medical procedure notes from the British Army BATLS manual, 9-Liner Template and MIST Template. I have attached some MIST Casualty Cards all ready to pull out.

From FAW to actually being employable and more importantly usefull to casualty!

Yes they do. The TA CMT(v) trade has changed a fair amount over the last few years. The walts that a 2 week course now does not make you a CMT. CMT(v) class 3 and class 2 has to be supervised by a class 1 Reg or TA. CMT(v)'s can also do specialist bolt courses e.g ALS, Cannulation, etc.

You thought about becoming a combat med tech in the TA? That will give you some basic medic experience and basic military experience. Best bit about it is that it will not cost you anything.

I saw an article written about this from Anaesthesia UK. They say that Crystalloid should be used in fluid resus for casualties falling into hypovolemic shock. Patients with trauma/sepsis and pumped with Crystalloid have a slightly lower mortality than patients who have had Colloids. They also...

Well I currently work in the NHS but on the IT side of things. Spend a lot of my free time doing medical cover with the TA.
