    Does neutering or spaying

We have a wee bitch in our service who has been "speyed" and she has had no lessening of her drive that i have seen. This was done because she was a nutcase for the two weeks prior to her season and sent the other dogs mad during it so was off the ground.

    Patrol dog jobs.

J4mie-k9, thanks mate but what is level 2 GP? What is it trained to actually do on the ground? Will he just defend you or will he for example indicate on a hidden person whilst on patrol? Not slagging just purely for my own info. Thanks M

    Cesar Millan kicking dogs

Happyhoundgirl, i disagree with you. Both the pinch and the ecollar has its place in dog training if used correctly and just to correct you pinch collars are not banned in this country. We are training our dogs to perform several functions including biting not teaching "manners" and use positive...

    Cesar Millan kicking dogs

He is a showman pure and simple and i love to see him "training" these big aggressive dogs. DB1 the prong or pinch collar is a very good, humane training aid if used correctly causing fewer problems than the check chain.

    Malinois Agility/Control

It is a credit to you mate getting your dog to do these things. I suppose Billy doesnt really need the ladders.

    interesting article about police dogs

Its a joke happens all the time, someone does something wrong force is used and they take the CC to court. Generally its not contested as this would cost substantially more than the injury is worth. Im all for the person who is bitten through no fault of their own as in the case of the old man...

    Advice needed

Summer, no offence intended but your dog already has become a risk. Limit the contact unless very strictly controlled untill sorted.

    Advice needed

Summer, dont think anyone was making that assumption. Most people who have pet dogs dont realise the damage dogs can do. You have a very large breed who can cause considerable damage to adults nevermind children. We dont know your experience with dogs but the fact that you have asked the...

    Advice needed

Summer, i believe Hk9 has given you pretty good advice so wont add anything. I believe your vets not correct about female dogs, if female dogs are neutered before their first season it lessens the chance of mamary cancer by nearly 100%. At least that is what our service vet has quoted.

    K9 Passive Explosive screening

Sounds like suicide to me alright. Whats the answer, rely on good intel and sharp Police or is there another way to detect the device prior to the bang!! I realise there are probably electronic means but are they as quick and reliable as a dog. What about a slightly more covert deployment of the...

    Labrum Tear

Again thanks all. Knash thanks, thats answered some more questions. Annie, i am taking your advice and not giving the cortisone a go. Your not the only one who has said this to me, it seems very little benefit. Did you have any probs with the anti inflammatorys, their killing me?

    Bino's or 'scope?

Bino's good quality only. Much easier on the eye and easier to pick up the subject. The only time i would use a spotting scope is at much greater distance and then only for better detail as i would normally have binos too.

Hints and tips for a belgian shepard?

I think you have a point Annie but it would be benificial to do a bit of training with the dog. I am sure we have all seen our family pets mouthing but not really biting in the situation you mentioned. Also getting a leave in would be good. Legio, where are you in the country? Someone on here...
