To a degree yes, however the skills are no where near as good with D13. Public order medics and other specialist roles are trained to the teams standard. Sadly, there will always be the argument that we are cops not paramedics so why do we need this training. Because there are less ambulances...
Hi. Paul the paramedic was made redundant....He still has input into it but it is still by and managed by the PC. They now have a team of 5 ad hoc instructors, of which I'm one that do training and assessments together with the resus assessment done by the necessary NHS staff
Kent police runs a tactical medicine program. It caters for AFO's and Public order and other specialist units. It's exceeds the D13 and is also taught to other agencies
ACPO guidelines and national courses require you to be advanced police driver. Some agencies do a zero to hero course as they are nicknamed where you do the standard course followed immediately by advanced course. You can't go on a national accredited course without that.
