Hello to all,
Does anybody remember the unit 19 Support Platoon RMP, driving expensive high performance High Profile Police Patrols Vehicles Around Germany at ridiculous speeds chasing SOXMIS. I was the person that sadly had to turn the light switch off after the unit was disbanded in 1991.
The unit was full a great bunch of lads and we all experienced more overtime than any officer that I know. I have many pictures from the first RMP Patrol vehicles, to the last Opel Senators, which to this day bring a smile when I look at them.
Would be great to hear from you.
Regards Keith.

All I remember was trying a find a sodding parking slot in the rear car park for my 3/4 Ton FFR DPM GPD no f...g heater so called Patrol vehicle after a crap drive from Sennelager ! However I recall the grub was good.

On a serious note you should post the pics on RMP WORLD

Good idea mate, but is the site set up to take prints from a Box Brownie?? 19 Support Platoon...FMB!!and Ian Storey, I was lucky? enough to spend 6 glorious weeks with Lancs Constabulary doing the Advanced Driving Course. A Class 1 pass meant that I was sent to Werl to Instruct on the 'White Car' Course....Hmmm, my hair got greyer by the day!!Not because of the night drive back from Hamburg either!!

Hi John I do remember you from meeting you in Germany many moons ago. I agree there was always a problem parking at 19, and as you say the food was good. I remember Werl very well as after 19 was disbanded I moved there with 3 other lads to form and run the first ever RMP Driving School which lasted nearly 7 years before it was disbanded, very sad. I also remember the night drive from Hamburg, dam, those were the days. I must say though the Lancashire course was good and hard but, not as hard as the Instructors course at No6 South Western Region Driving School in Devizes, most probably one of the longest and hardest courses mentally I ever achieved. Fond memories. I still have many great memories of that time at 19. For me it was a sad day when I turned the lights of for the last time. I also rememeber escorting the CO from Soxmis to JHQ to receive his final marching papers back to the salt mines in Russia probably. Take Care guys.

I worked with a guy from that unit, his name,,,,,escapes me, but worked with him at TRC Lisburn for a year or so '88-'90, oh so many years ago,,,, got it, Stu Begg's, are you out there Stu, or anyone know of him???

HAHA the big white 3lt Opel Senator with the long range tank in the boot ..... mean machines if a tad unstable in winter. Thought all the 19 Sp boys were moved from B'feld to the driving school in JHQ?
