Course philosophy:

It is our philosophy that in order to identify a sophisticated adversary as early as possible, one must fully appreciate and understand how the adversary behaves, collects information and operates. Operating covertly enables the protection operative to regain the tactical ad-vantage and surprise, thereby, maximizing the protection efforts while the client does not feel the presence of the security team

Simulation & Role Playing:

Multiple role players are used throughout the program to simulate genuine hostile surveillance as well as hostile scenarios, thereby, teaching attendees the skills required to make critical decisions in the field. These range from amateur to professional in order to simulate real world scenario’s.

Who Should Attend?

This Course is specifically designed for professionals working in or planning to work as Close Protection (CP) Officers in dynamic environments.

• CP Officers
• CP Team Leaders
• Official Units tasked with CP related duty
• Counter Terror Professionals
• All participants are required to provide proof of CP related training and experience

This course looks very interesting. My only concern is the costs. Is this a one time only course or will it be a regular course?

The price seems more than fair, considering who you are being taught by.
I've paid similar for other 'proper' courses and the company where I work now are about to send me on a BCS Data Protection course - 6 days for £1,750

As a specialist course, it is not conducted very often; that said however, I have indeed taught multiple similar courses in the UK in the past.

As for the cost - keep in mind I am coming over from Israel and therefore our own associated costs are higher; I have been teaching for many years and am still operational so what you get is current. I still work operationally with the highest tier of clientele and what I will be teaching is not terribly different than a watered down course that i teach to official units. ( Watered down to align with legal limitations of what can be done in private sector as well as much less time to teach, and of course OPSEC).

I have never had a student or organisation ask for a refund or even complain and most of the feedback is simply asking when they can do a follow up course. It costs for quality teaching but TBH, this is not expensive for the knowledge you will take away.

There are some reviews of my previous courses here (with my previous company, but i taught):

Its about time SD was given the attention it deserves, especially with regards to Executive Protection.
Currently, SIA/qualifying bodies require CP training providers, to provide enough training to give students an awareness of the subject only. Sometimes only 1 day during the course is allotted and usually taught by someone with limited experience.
In fairness, most CP training providers cover the deterrence and response aspects in detail, but why is the detection allocated so little time in relation to the other subjects. Could it be that, the hostile planning cycle and the importance of surveillance to it is not fully recognised.
Or, is it that to teach surveillance awareness/detection requires someone who is an expert in its theory, practice and has the experience to match. People with the required expertise are usually difficult to find (is that due to their training?).
It is good to see that someone (EXCELLENTIA) has identified this capability gap and is intending to fill it. Operators should constantly be considering their career development. Personally I feel that anyone without an attendance on a formal SD course is missing an important aspect of his or her chosen skill set.
Detecting a proposed attack will always be preferential to responding to it.

Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter.
