Hello,

Im new to CP world and forums in general but first impressions count and the advice ive seen in just 20 mins seems very professional and honest.
Im an army leaver after 9 years. Im leaving as a Lsgt and am 30 years old.
I am looking to start a new career in civvi street and am very interested in a Security and Risk Managment course run through CRG. Now, i am fully aware that im not an officer or even a Warrant Officer/ SNCO, however, the course (and career path) interests me and i need to go firm on a decision very soon. I have friends and contacts in the CP/security world and all have said it is a very good course, however, my rank after leaving may hinder my chances of finding decent work, regardless of the fact i would have spent a year studying and have a diploma which qualifies me. Im not an ignorant or arrogant bloke and in no way do i expect to walk into a 70k a year job. What i would like is a foot on the bottom rung of a ladder and given the chance to prove im capable of doing a good job, with the possibilitie of better work/jobs and promotion in the future, much like the army. Is this a realistic plan and end-state or am i pissing in the wind? Any help, advice or even criticism would genuinely be appreciated
