Best CP courses for HE?

Hi all,

I have less than two years left in the British Army. I served 12.5 years in the Grenadier Guards, reaching Platoon Sergeant, then transferred to the RLC as a Movement Controller.

During my time in the Grenadier Guards I deployed on Operational Tours to Bosnia, Iraq (TELIC 8) and Afghanistan (HERRICK 6 & 11). I also spent two years at the Army Foundation College Harrogate as a Section Commander instructor.

Since transferring I have been deployed to the USA, Jamaica, Morocco and Eastern Europe; most notably at the NATO Force Intergration Unit in Poland. I also did 6 months on the UN Mission in South Sudan. My jobs whilst in the Regiment have mostly been in Sqn Ops and the training wing, planning and delivering 'green' training including exercises and ranges.

Now I'm coming to the end of my military career, I'm looking at transitioning into the security world, namely CP in HE and/or Security Risk Management consultancy.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a reputable training provider that delivers a CPO course which includes FREC 3 and HECPO? Ideally I would like to work in the hostile environment setting so looking for a course that puts alot of emphasis on this area. I have been doing alot of research and am leaning towards 3rg at the minute, is this a wise choice?

I thank you all in advance for any and all help and/or advice.

Ronin SA/Phoenix from my own personal research.

Phoenix currently offering discounts too, according to recent updates on here...

Thank you for the reply mate. The Ronin SA course does look brilliant, a bit too pricey for me with flights etc though.

Welcome.

I did look at getting a loan out, especially with protect and serve or no1 copperpot. Reap the rewards when you land yourself a role in CPO. Just a thought. I am not currently in a good enough position to do as mentioned, but it's on the cards...

That's not a bad idea, I've never heard of them before until you mentioned them.

It is straight forward gives you the tick in the box and looks good on the CV which is what you need. Bear in mind if you get a job for example in Iraq with CRG they will fly you out there to do their HECPO training before starting contract so you do it their way anyway.

If you wanted to get reps up live firing on the range with M4/AR, AK, and Glocks doing a dedicated combined firearms course or HECPO Course such as we provide out in Serbia could be worthwhile.

Perfect, thank you. I think then that the game plan will be to do the 3rg course as a starting place, then to have a look into the dedicated courses you mentioned to do at a later date as some proffessional development. I guess I can find info on the course you run in Serbia on your website?

Ask yourself the following...is any of the above companies working in protective roles in hostile zones? If not who are?
G4S, RISK CONTROL GROUP, I am not updated what companies that sit on various contracts but I go for them and yes I have done cp/psd, convoy and police training as a job with various companies. What people forget is there are oher names to jobs, like security coordinator, country manager, various medic roles, United NATIONS, Armourer, protective driver, static scurity , mobile protection, diplomatic protection, advisors etc..so understandining on Risk and Crisis control/management can be the different in 5000£ a month more then a mobile protection team member.
