Bone Conductive Earpieces... any good?

Afternoon folks.
Been working in a super loud club for a while.. are bone conductive units any good?
My current covert earpiece is not great when the club system is at full whack.
It's hard to talk to the lads via standard mic with the covert setup as its SO loud (obviously), and more importantly; sometimes incoming transmissions get drowned out and I only receive a partial message.
So - was considering a bone conductive earpiece.. ( it seems you don't need a mic for the bone unit?).

Does anyone know if bone conductive earpieces would work well enough to get along without a throat mic?
If so, any recommendations for Kenwood friendly units?
Thanks.

John,

I recommend you get some ear moulds taken I use "amplifon" they are very good, the noise reduction is great you can have a normal earpiece or an amplified one.. Depends on how much you want to spend.

I have one and it makes a huge difference to being able to talk in loud environments. The only problem is that I have a problem with various earpieces falling out and this is one of them, so I no longer use it. It tends to work its way loose and so stops conducting the voice (you can still hear but others can't hear you as well). However, I've known other people that don't have this problem and I think mine just isn't the right size for my ear.

Thanks folks,

I take it that if I used a custom mould - would that defeat the method the bone conductor uses?
Or can I use the BC plugged into a custom mould?

Currently using Covert with a modified Musicsafe double baffle tip that seals well and is comfortable, altho not great with extreme volume and of course the ptt mic is no use in dancefloor use.

Also would recommend one from personal experience. I bought one for the same reason years ago now so they probably have advanced a bit. Looks good, more secure in your ear, more durable and most importantly it works as it should.
