HI All has anybody applied for any of the CNC vancancies lately?
I applied away back in August but havent heard anything from them!

Cheers JB

Yeah I sent mine in last year as well dont understand why they opened the recuritment a year before they were going to accept people :/ suppose its the 6 P's lol , Also you can apply for more than one post at a time...

What are they like to work for? better than a home office force? I understand the two jobs are entirely different from each other!

i cant really discuss much on an open forum. The job in a nutshell is armed guarding (an important one i have to add) if its arrests,blue-lighting,or a fast track to an home office force youre wanting this wont be it.

I applied April last year. Called them up in September as I hadn't heard anything back. Lady on the phone sifted out my application there and then and told me I'd passed the papersift and would be sent a letter in a few weeks inviting me to an assessment centre. 12 weeks later and after hours of phone calls and emails either ignored or with someone unable to help they sent me a letter saying I'd failed the papersift. Needless to say I didn't even give it a second thought about reapplying after 6 months...

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear about your trouble. Sounds like a nightmare to me.
Good luck with your future.

JB.

Hey JB,

I see your in NI mate? Just to give you heads up - The NISGS will be advertising soon - if its armed guarding your looking to do here?! The pay is also ok - not what it states on the advert - just an idea............................. :-)

I applied CNC myself, 2 years later I finally get a response just to the intial application and it's a fail on competency questions, because I had no idea about police core competencies so if I made up some bullshit I could be a police officer but as I used real life situations and not 'police core competency, score racking up' shite I fail.

6months before I can reapply, to a job where they take 2years to get back to you and fail you on one small thing with no interview or anything. Not impressed.

MOD Police won't recruit this whole year at least. Local force is just about never recruiting(that I've seen in the last 10years) nevermind 2years service to get to AFO(or apply at least). BTP are not recruiting AFO's right now, I asked. Recession sucks! haha

Anyway lesson learned, it's about scoring on competency...

Well after almost two and a half years of waiting for an assessment centre date I decided to withdraw my application.
The HR department of the CNC seem to be totally unreliable. After many emails and phone calls they still couldn't tell me when an assessment centre would be held. So I have decided not to pursue this career any more.
I feel my next move will be to join RMP (TA). I feel the Army will give me far better training than the CNC ever will.

Good luck to anybody else going for the CNC.

JB
