practice practice practice etc etc

I failed avoiding this thread. I really did try... Honest, I did try. Pistol shooting, in most competitions is a great, difficult sport to be consistent in. Sadly, the powerful UK NRA, have always been anti-handguns, and whenever there was a problem with a nutter, they pretty much always said "Nothing to do with us..." And often muttering "Bloody Cowboys!"" instead of helping or keeping their views to themselves. Over time, and whenever there there was a nutter shooting people with a legally owned handgun, the Police that had sanctioned the shooter having a 'ticket' to own handguns were rarely questioned as to why they they approved him. (Quite rare for a female to shoot someone. They handle knives and axes better.)
So back to the thread... Practicing 'quick draw' at close or near ranges can be good fun, but are you prepared to shoot someone at close quarters? Plus, at close quarters the opposition may just snatch it out of your hand while you are still moving to aim. We taught if at close quarters and once out of the holster, fire the bloody thing. So it went into the floor or someones foot, so what? Practicing "two in the body and one in the face" Try it the other way around as the one in the face usually stops the opposition straight away. Or do one in the chest on the way up to do the one in the face. Don't call it a 'head shot' as that implies raising the weapon more than needed, or shooting them from behind. Practice one handed, aimed slow fire with a handgun, and never support the barrel, only the butt. I knew I should have ignored this bloody thread. Going outside now with a revolver and 30 rounds of 357 to piss off one of my neighbours. Just gone 5pm EST. Sorry I sold the OSP...
