For those who don't know about the EasyPort -
This semi-automatic external defibrillator is so small and light that it fits in
every coat pocket and every doctor´s bag, and still meets all
requirements of a modern AED.

  • Light – only 450 gms
  • Small – only 133 x 126 x 35 mm
  • Fits into the palm of your hand
  • High resolution LCD screen also displays the ECG rhythm
  • Low defibrillation energy 120J, 120J, 120J, gentle impact on heart tissue
  • Lithium battery, 60 shocks, standby in machine 5 years
  • On-screen and calm voice prompts supports user through “Chain of Survival”
  • Back-lit LCD screen displays ECG, Date & Time card & battery status.
  • Paediatric capabilities, automatic switch when child pads attached
  • Optional memory card stores 500 events, 30mins ECG and 30mins voice recording
  • Complete with battery, set of adult pads and carry bag
The FRED Easyport is the ideal companion of physicians, paramedics, public service staff and other persons trained in early defibrillation. High risk patients can now carry their own rescue device after they and their families have been introduced by their doctor. This dramatically reduces the response time to treat ventricular fibrillation and tachycardias, granting the victims a much better chance of survival.

Thats a nice little item to have with some of my old clients, (72 & 68).
And a cracking idea to go with my current ward, his father is 74. (fit as a fiddle)
Any ideas on the best FAAW type course to put him and me on,
that covers in depth Cardiac Arrest etc..

And before any one starts the numbers are their ages,
and not a mistaken order for a chinese take away.

FAAW doesn't cover beyond CPR. You should consider FPOS Intermediate as a replacement for FAAW or a stand alone CPR & AED course such as Heartstart if that is all you want to learn about.

Alright Lads and Ladies,
Will give this item another couple of days then will remove the post, not really bothered if it gets sold or not. If anyone is interested then drop me a line.

To add to the above posts, first aid at work does not cover indepth cardiac related incidents, however if you are interested and your local area has a first responder scheme running then this may be a "free" shortcut to education and some experience, and no im not trying to recruit anyone!!!

All the best
