Yup I am positive..

All the vids that can be seen on the interet are filmed away from the window never facing the said window and basically they were around the corner.

The post-mortem examination on a French gunman killed after a frenzied shootout with police has recovered more 20 bullets from his body, officials have confirmed.

They said spree killer Mohammed Merah died from two fatal rounds, one to the head and another to the abdomen.
But he was also hit by another 20 bullets, mainly in the arms and legs.
The post-mortem results came hours after Sky News obtained new footage of the operation, showing specialist firearms officers going in for the raid on Merah's flat in the southern French city of Toulouse.
Officers closed in on Merah after a nationwide manhunt for the killer of seven people, including three young children and three paratroopers, in attacks over the past fortnight.
The gunman was holed up in the property for 32 hours, as police tried to negotiate with him, before deciding on a capture attempt that ended in a violent firefight.
The 23-year-old French citizen of Algerian descent had claimed to have links to al Qaeda - but an official said there was no evidence the terror network had trained him or been in contact with him.
Merah died after he jumped out of a window while still firing his weapons.

They are all nutcases.. fanatics

They should have applied the Russian method and fill the friggin house with gas to put him to sleep (Assuming they wanted to get some intel from him) fast easy and relatively cheap and clean ..there is not justification for the extra 30 hours extratime and money spent by the police trying to get him alive only to fail..

If I recall that Russian method you're mentioning well, then the last time they used it there was not much intel collected, witnesses died from gas, because the forces didn't want to tell doctors in hospital what was it they used, and terrorists where shot in the head from the close distance just for a good measure incase they still alive...
 
True.. but that was ages ago..

Annie I think you may have missed out some words (and letters) but yes both are correct.

He jumped from the window and the sniper covering that window appears to have been a good shot. I just hope the 20 odd other bullets that hit him are still causing him some pain where ever he is.

I have found some info at Polish news web page that apparently this guy oryginally wanted to attack some French SF officer and after he didn't find him he attacked the school, any confirmation on that?
 
In these hard economic times 20 bullets and a long drop is a lot cheaper solution, than numerous trials and appeals, a small fortune on pandering to his human rights, rehousing and catering to his family, high security guarding.
I'm not sure the french could afford it without defaulting on a loan or two.
Least said about this cretin, the sooner mended.
He died a dishonourable death, just as he lived his life, in a cowardly way.
It's the nature of the beast.
Trouble is these nutters think their worthless lives are a reflection of others lives.
 
Anyone could see that the so called special squad guys took way too long do do their job..

If their justification was :"It took us so long because we wanted him alive" ,well they failed.

We all know emotion can alter your perceptions and consequently ALL the judgments based on these perceptions. Right?!!

You might want to realise the tactic of pumping gas in to knock out the attackers WORKED.

They did go to sleep! That was what the unindentified gas WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!

That enabled the rooskie SF 's (Which by the way ,their training was based on British principles. The first principle being not to launch an assault unless those poor buggers were in danger. ) to do their job!

The fact the Russian SF refuzed to tell the doctors what shit they use to gas the buggers(Good OPSEC drills from their part by the way) is irrelevant.

Those poor buggers were DEAD way before it even started.Reason why?

Because some guys in the upper rooskie echelons decided they could use the resulting tragedy in their advantage,
(Does it ring a bell with you ? 9/11 USA and afterwards !!) to toughen laws on terrorism and expand the powers of law enforcement agencies to a even higher level than before..

Anyways ,anyone knows that in these kind of cases where the terrorists not really mind killing themselves as well as others, and had no "exit strategy", the role of negotiators and the sieges is virtually useless..

So long story short: No , i haven't got it wrong.

They got it wrong and the gasing tactic would have worked a treat ..Of course providing the French SF would not have used the same experimental type of gase like the rookies did (Highly unlikey since the composition is still a secret today )
If you wanna remember the reason for those casualties was the rooskies refusal to disclose the composition of the shit they used..
