Hi all,

I've been a regular member here for a few months now - and have learned a fair bit from the postings, and also helped others by having my say.

I am in the same position as a million other CPO's - looking for work, but unlike a lot of lads (and i'm speaking from experience in talking personally to some... so no offence here guys - and girls) but i'm perfectly willing to grab a half decent RST job if there's any about.

I'll gladly work in UK or Worldwide - and although I'm no charity, I will work for any "sensible" money - i don't stamp my feet and chuck the dummy out the pram of I'm not on £300 a day...!

So basically guys - i've done the usual - emailed and made contact with hundreds of coy's, - just asking if anyone has heard of any RST work or Chauffeur work about that would help me get my feet back in the door on the Circuit. It might be a job you've turned down due to other commitments or just don't like the look of it - but any good advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

I know this industry revolves around "word of mouth" more than anything else - so I'm going back to basics and putting my hand in the air, waving and shouting - "anyone got anything for me???!!"

In the meantime - keep safe - keep posting (it's all good) and hope you all achieve what you are looking for.

hmmm - not ex-police either mate -
i'm a "civvi-turned-cpo-with-full-on-determination" !

probably why i've been finding it hard.....

Hey Sparky,

I see that you are determined to find a career in this industry and I think that’s great, I’m just about to start my CPO course on Monday 12/01/09, and soon will be looking for projects to work on like yourself.

I was wondering if you would like to maybe team up and help each other out.
I will be meeting and working with current CPO's that are working the circuit, so hopefully I might get sum work my way once my course is completed. In addition, if you come across any projects that might require someone coming on board that would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to discuss anything PM me...

Take care,
F001

P.s,
If anyone else would be happy to help me with any projects, I would be grateful.

to ff01 i my self am just getting started in the cp industry i am awaiting my license to be validated from the SIA. if we could help each other on the voyage to success i would be up for that.

Hi Mickyrob,

Congratulations on passing your CP course, hope you are successful in this industry,
I would most definitely be up for helping each other out.

I’m looking at around 4 weeks, until I am qualified in CP, once I have passed and applied for my SIA licence. If you would like to exchange contact details, PM me and I will get back to you.

Take care

Sounds like a good idea - i believe you have to network yourself to get anywhere. Got a few good mates out in the sand at the mo - trying to get me some kind of RST work out there and back here.
Good luck on your course - you'll enjoy it!
Lets touch base when you get back.

I'll PM you my email address

Hi Mickeyrob

Haven't got much info (trying to get some myself!) - got a couple mates out in the sand at the mo, on some pretty high profile jobs, who are trying to get my feet in the doors out there too - I trained and qualified with one guy - and keep regular contact with him, but there's nothing doing yet.
I know that Aegis are looking for people - but as I'm not ex-mil or ex-police they aren't particularly keen on letting me apply online, so I'm trying to get in via recommendation.
No offence to any Ex-Mil or Ex-Pol guys, but I know I can do the job - I've spent so much time with loads of ex-forces guys - I have learnt SO much... I need to put it to good use!

If I hear of anything - I will let you all know - Share and Share alike as they say!

Good luck on the hunt too mate.

Keep in touch.

DS.

Hey guys,

I’m just getting prepared to go on my CP course on Monday, I’m taking it with a company called RST based in London, I was wondering if anyone has heard of them or even trained with them in the past?

I would also greatly appreciate, if anyone could give me any pointers, or tips...
I’m keen to get started, but at the same time do not want to be over confident and fall over head first...

Well I thank you in any support offered, hope to hear from anyone.

Take care

Thanks Para,

I have already booked a course with Response Security Training Ltd, they are based in Central London.

Has anyone heard of them? If so what is there reputation in the industry?

Hi F001,

They are highly regarded in the industry and post on the forum, if you had taken your time and read the older threads you would have found out about them.

All the best.

Thanks Yoda,
