Hi
I have a SIA DS license but in 6-9 months i wany yo do CVIT course. My question is what other courses should i think of, in order to increase my chances to work as a CVIT after completing the course. There are only two which are in my mind are:
-first aid at work (3days)
-advance driving course.
What is the age requirement for this kind of job? What kind of expirience do i need?

As far as i am aware the age limit for advanced driving is 17+ with a full and valid UK driving license. First Aid at Work is from 16+

As for geting into CVIT once you have your license just contact the bigger companies and see if they have any vacancies and then go from there

The only advanced driving skills you will need is how to mount a pavement without hitting any old lady who is coming out of the shopping centre and pi$$ing everyone off in the carpark!

Apart from the large companies I honestly don't know who actually utilises the CVIT licence as they seem to just use SG, DS and CP badged people.

I'm sure I will be shot down in spectacular fashion here but I don't know of anyone that has got their CVIT and then used it in any role other than a Loomis or Securitas worker (or other larger companies!).

Just quickie, why do you you want to do you your CVIT!?

Most companies will actually put you through the course as long as you pass the credit checks and back-ground check. Might be worth looking at the bigger comapnies first before you fork out yourself for the cousre and the badge.

Good luck mate.
