Insurance

So I never realised there was an insurance area! wow! new stuff to me.

Anyway, through previous employment I have been covered by employer in all aspects really, but now self-employed is the new in thing which every cool cat is doing, I would very much like a little help with it all.

I would like insurance for..
Public Liability, incase something happens to the plebs of society when they decide to throw a hissy fit in my bar
Personal liability, incase i get pulled down the stairs by the 18 stone uni student who can't handle his booze
Handcuff insurance, incase I cuff some rape-est slightly wrong and stop him from using his hands for the rest of his life.

Any companies that you guys could suggest that are...well...cheap...but good ish cover then please post bellow. I was quoted public liability a couple of weeks back at over £800 for the year, and seems like not many people want to do personal liability to a doorman, is it a job which we get beat up or something..? but anyway, needs must...

Thanks everyone :)

Im with UK Special Risks at the mooment but its worth giving Camberford Law a shout as they were only a little more at the time. I think there is another called Topcover but not sure if they do DS but again worth a call.

heard quite a bit about top cover, but think they are just really CP stuff :/

ill check out those two

Did you find any insurer that covers individual Door Supervisors yet? If so, who was this with and how much did it cost?

Cheers, Mark

Did come across one, which again price was huge. Annoyingly there are not really any insurers that take into account training etc. Like in driving, if you sit a PASS PLUS, your quote goes down. But advanced pi and advance cm doesnt effect quotes for doors at all. just seems to be a flat rate

thank fully i do have a little employment now where i don't need insurance, but still want it....
