Hi guys,

I was wondering ,if when i do a CP course will it be hard to get any work due to lack of experiance, i'm 38 and just done the sia door supervisors NVQ 2 course.
How easy is it to your first job , when coming from a different back ground?

Anyone how has had the same experiance please let me know?

Thanks

At the moment a lot of very experienced guys are having issues getting work. There is a lot of people and not a lot of work. My advice would be unless you have someone who can get you in the door wait until the industry has settled a bit.

Cheers

Hi
First understand that there is a security world outside of UK and there might be options there.
However a recent post told us at cpw that SIA have now licensed over 5000 SIA cp licenses and surely all of them cant work right.
Guys with 10, 15 and over 20 years experience in just cp have difficulties in finding work not to say almost impossible.
The industry is 50% experience and 50% network and contacts.
I understand the ones living out of training say it is possible sure, anything is..
If you set your mind to it you can be an jetfighter kapten, owner of a yatch etc..
But how strong possibility?
I have been doing this for 18 years, anything from cash in transit, close protection, running my own company and securing contracts in the middle east and I fight for the few jobs I get aswell..
So nothing is easy, but possible if your in this for the quick I say do something else, it takes time the more training and experience the better and if you go on this course knowledge isent hard to carry with you.
Have you been working on the nightclubs then the nightclub owner might have connections with celebs, booking agencys or you see them yourself when working, excellent opportunity to start escorting them around

A begining, not the end
