Hi guys. I'm looking for help or any info about security work in UK (London) because it seems like non UK experiences means for companies nothing and I'm sure that I'm not any retail/corporate type. If anyone can give my some info about work, company or any offer I'll be very happy about it.

It seems 3 million unemployed in the UK are here ahead of you.
But that seems to mean nothing to people coming here looking for work either.

Just for your information sir some people need to visit UK to learn and prove English and I'm really sorry that I want to work in security like some years before and I want to learn and prove my experience and skills and visit Close protection training. For me is this country just next step in my education and security carrier. So sorry, I'm looking for some help not for any information about any population facts. Thank you.

So what exactly makes you think you are suitable, or better qualified that the thousands of unemployed security officers already available for work?
Are you aware that security in the UK is one of the most difficult and underpaid sectors to work in?
Or that you need a license which you have to pay for, or that you must pay for a course to get a license, and that a clean criminal record in your home country is required?
Grass is never greener, despite what you may think....

If you react to criticism like that , why would anyone want you on a team. Just a thought for you to ponder.

So where is it you are coming from?
Back there where ever it may be how do you think the rest of us would pan out if we came in the manner you did?
Why did you leave your country?
After the UK what is your next step?
How do you think the UK will best serve you, and in return what will you do for the UK?

I'm like 1000 other guys - have military background, spend last 6 from 7 years in armed and unarmed security positions. I just came to UK prove language and make some close protection course which have very high value in the world and then to find some work anywhere arround the world. I came here because some of my friend did it in the past and they give me informations about it. I'm just trying to spend the time in UK in security guys, learn something new and I'm trying to use every possible change to find some job.I was hoping that this website is the right place for it.Thanks.

Your language is already better than half the 'herbets' we come across in the UK.
It seems you've invested some time already in your education.
Most commendable.
Do keep in mind that we have 3 million unemployed, and some of them are actually looking for work.
And the powers that be seem to see the security industry as a dumping ground for all the carcasses, heads and tossed out tails.
They may look like fish and smell like fish. But thats as far as it goes.
They soon flounder, but because they are cheap they get swept up in the employment net.
To the detriment of the real body of security professionals.
I wish you luck, but you've been fair warned what to expect.

Some very valuable points for you to take on board. I myself am no politician nor want to go down the root of starting one very touchy debate.

As mentioned no one is pointing the finger at you and saying that you are not educated as you obviously are as already stated, your english is pretty good. For me I just see so many who state they want to do X & Y then just get lost in the UK system never to be seen of or heard of again which is why Britain is in such a mess with immigration.

Saying you want to conduct a Close Protection course etc etc etc doesn't show anybody on here how you will fund all the courses and license fee's required and also what you have to offer the UK.

If you are a member of the EU then of courses it is easy for you to enter the UK and conduct the courses in question, but if you are from further a field then please do tell us what you can bring to the table. And by that I mean more than being an upstanding citizen, professional blah blah blah.

As I did state this is not directed solely at you, but as a british individual we see this time after time and we see where its heading, there is more I could add but this is a Security Forum and not the Houses Of Parliament , and I am no politician, just one of many who has seen it all before many many times.

Hi Ariuc.

If you've got the requisite licence and a decent work ethic you'll probably pick up some sort of security job.

The problems I see you having are:-

1) Close protection work is limited and generally obtained through a network of existing contacts.

2) Security work although obtainable is normally low paid and London is one of the most expensive cities on Earth.

I'd think long and hard before you commit to anything.

I am sorry.
No i am not sorry, just being polite.
Britain neither wants or more importantly needs you.
That's the truth, your skills or lack of skills is not our concern and certainly not our problem.
We do not have a skills shortage in the security industry.
We are over subscribed with wannabees and jacket fillers, who openly declare they will work for nothing or next to nothing.
What can you bring to Britain ?
Nothing, we have more than enough deserving candidates with military experience.
In all honest you are surplus to requirement, your needs are not our needs.
Your wants do not enhance our society.
We need to get our own house in order first, before we attend to your needs.
It's the way it is, it's tough out there, we are not about to make it tougher for ourselves to satisfy others wants and needs. Bring us something that we need or lack, your needs and wants are not our first concern.

Its OK to tell us how you really feel OJ.

Here in Britain it's not OK to tell it, how we feel.
I could and will be called a racist undoubtedly.
But I have seen the security sector in the UK dragged down into the mire.
It's worth devalued.
We have in the UK already a surfiet of security personnel, more than capable of filling and fulfilling all the tasks and requirements that are in demand.
We have to feed and employ our own first and foremost. It's just common sense.
When we need outside labour; as we've done in the past ,, we'll seek it.
Others demands are not our needs.
Our open borders policy and the impression that our streets are paved with gold, has led to over supply, and encouraged other EU countries the opportunity to use us as a dumping ground.
Enough is enough.
I have worked with many nationalities in the past, all have rewarded and pleased me with their efforts and abilities.
Not all actually as lately some of their demands have not been agreeable to the task in hand.
Their skills and abilities were unsuitable and way below what was required.
But according to the powers that be they are qualified.
In the past I have mentorred many with great success for them and us.
But they had a very different attitude to this new breed.
They seemed grateful, willing and worked hard to adapt to our working practises.
They met their own demands and needs themselves.
I feel now that we must look after our own first.
It's the way it must be now, it's just common sense.

I completely understand all things what you're saying guys, but I actually have work, have a security work but my problem I want to learn more, from right people with right experiences and I never stop trying to look for something better.
That was exactly the point why I left my country-limited chances to grow and learn.I was working last year for 780£/mon just because I need to prove the language-so I know very well how expencive is London.
And again sorry for that-all details about situation in UK or world can stop me from trying.
I can accept failure,but I can't accept not trying.
Thanks
