Hi,

I'm really hoping you guys can help me.

I need to locate someone via their mobile phone number (UK). This person has evaded service of some very important court documents because he has given incorrect addresses. The only information I have now is his phone number.

These court documents are incredibly important and I wouldn't be asking otherwise. I am happy to provide further info over private message if necessary.

All I will need is a location in the evening so I can provide an address to the bailiffs to serve the documents.

Because of how important this is and I have no other option I am willing to pay as well.

Please trust me that I have no bad intentions, I simply need an address to serve documents.

Hoping someone can help or at least point me in the right direction of someone that can.

I have seen systems in the past (for example the RAC have it) where a phone can be tracked from the phone number.

Thanks in anticipation.

Not a chance. Only people who can do that are police/security services and then only with just cause/warrant/court order.

Hire a PI, a good one with experience and they will find said person.

And stop watching American television, its influencing your judgement.

Are things different over there? In the U.S. this would not be an unusual request for a P.I. I receive them all the time? As for tracking the person from the phone.... yea not legal.

You could just try Googling the number and see what comes up. Some people use their mobiles as business numbers. If they do this and have a comprehensive paper trail (most people), it should be rather easy to find out more info on the,

As far as I'm aware though, tracing and tracking isn't really possible, unless you're in a position of authority to get a warrant for information or location or an employee of the company to which the phone number is registered to. Unlike the US, there's not a huge amount of info on people online. In the US, they treat cell phones the same as landlines and put everything for the world to seem which makes them much easier to search (whitepages) and find addresses and names.

As you said you're serving documents, I doubt you'd be able to get the permission from the Police/government for it unless it was really serious. As much as a pain in the backside it may be, one must think about it from a civil liberties perspective. Would you be comfortable with Big Brother staring at you every day and night?

Location-wise, without a position of authority, is also incredibly difficult. There are certain way of tracking without such requirements however, such as the use of GPS sending data over SMS/data but without consent this is illegal (and would require access to their device in the first place). LTE phones are easily trackable, but you'd need to be within range of the device (and is a legal grey area).
