New Boots

Hi dbeee,

My choice for lighter work similar to the ones you have mentioned are Magnum Elite Spider 8.0 they are more expensive
but I find them great indoor / outdoor in warmer weather. For a more robust winter boot I go for the Lowa Mountain. These
are great but can be hot in warmer weather. It really is personal choice when it comes to boots. I would say buy cheap, buy
twice.

Good luck....................Nippy

Feet are your most important part of your body whilst patrolling.

In the summer months you can get athletes foot easy. Winter months your feet freeze. During the rain your feet could get soaked. Do a lot of walking and you can easily get blisters.

So I believe they are worth looking after.

Looking after is not a £25 pair from amazon/ebay with a brand name you've never heard of.

There are several reputable brands out there with price tags into the early hundreds.
Two of the most reputable brands for a sensible price would be Bates or Magnum. Check out patrol store or Niton999 and see what is in your price range.

As nippy said, but cheap by twice. Buy cheap you'll also need to buy blister socks. And gaffer tape (as the inside material will die easy) been there, done that, got better boots

Quality in Magnum has gone to hell in recent years.
Haix, German made, TWO YEAR GUARANTEE, and now used by the German , French and UK and Irish military, as well as the PSNI.
Cannot recommend them highly enough, like encasing your feet in marshmallows!!

Hi Dbeee,

I haven't tried those boots, but what will you be using the boots for? Type of job, terrain, weight carried, duration should all be deciding factors in your choice.

Cheers,

Greenboy

I agree, they have gone down.

However you can pick up a pair of magnums of £50, and they are better than an £80 nameless brand (fair to say) and HAIX are great, however you are talking money. Cheapest pair of HAIX boots from their site are £124 - if your a self employed security guard, you can't really afford it. But if you a CP or have a company budget then great.
