They also where just outbid on a US Airforce SP contract they have held in Germany for the past 11 years. The new firm that is coming in is only going to absorb 30% of the existing personnel and most of them are British, French and American who hold residency in Germany. G4S was working people 14 on 14 off at a starting pay rate of €17 per hour with 12 hour shifts. The new firm will operate under Part Time & Full Time at the same pay rate, allowing those who only work the industry to have full time work based on shifts, and then having the part timers who have other jobs work the weekend shifts. I was told it will still remain 12 hour shifts for the first 11 months of the contract but that the people working full time will have an option to work weekend shifts as well if they apply for it per date two weeks in advance. So it is still not very good pay at all but I can see where it adds a little more stability to those working there that had to take up other work during there time off under G4S.
They did win the State Department contract for Security Services in Luxembourg though, but that is only for 22 people.
They also have an open bid right now on a media contract with Interpol in Lyon but if their bid is anything like it has been (too high) for the last 6 years they will not get that either.
