Hi everyone

A handfull of my mates are currently working in security at the moment mainly for Relaince looking after schools and what not

so i was going to apply for a sia badge and go in to the same game

But after talking to them they said get yourself in to CVIT becuase its alot more money.

so hopefully there will be about 6-7 of us looking to get our cvit bagdes

Basically i would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me details or links to post ( cant find any ) to my question below

How much does it cost to get a CVIT course done ?
Do i need a sia badge when i get a CVIT ?
How much do they really pay per hour is it really £10 per hour ?
Also is it true the pay for CVIT jobs going up in 2010 ?
What and how much experiance or other critia do i need to meat to get a job handling cash ?
Are there jobs currently in the west yorkshire aera ?
how do i apply ?
finally i have 3 points on my licence will that affect anything
Most importantly what happens if i get hurt while working or robbed or shot ?

Cheers guys sorry to be a pain

Just to be clear i dont mind driving or being passenger aslong as the moneys good.

Tell us a bit more about yourself mate background etc (CPW intro's)
What if I get hurt? insurace springs to mind! As long as the money is good eh? I think you need to research a bit more on this type of work

Hi Mate,

I'm assuming you've looked around all the big companies and see if they're taking people on!? Loomis, G4S....etc!?

This is the best start for you mate. The povlem with CVIT, it's not quite as good as people think it is for risks you take. I wouldn't say you'd make your millions out of it working as a driver or custodian. Our guys got hit 6 times in as many months, some just deal with it and gt on with the job some had a load of time off. There is support and insurance in place for this type of thing as long as you were following procedures.......again, if you get shot (highly unlikely....you're more than likely to get twated with a bat!) but again you won't make millions out of it!

To be honest, there are very few small companies that use newbies, it's normally the larger companies that will take you on as long as you can pass there security checks, you can drive and you are over 21.

I don't know the in's and out's, it might be worth calling some of the comapnies who deal with it and ask but I would.....and this is only my opinion.......

Get yourself a DS licence, it's far more diverse and you can pretty much do anything that comes along (SG, Doors, RST, Events) With CVIT, you can do CVIT and that's it. The other problem with working CVIT, you are at the mercy of how well the business are doing and in this day and age it's not amazing....some larger companies have stopped overtime so it's all basic pay and they are cutting back.

Whatever you do, good luck mate.

Walks (ex CVIT and thankful!)
