Ive had my CP licence 1 year now and what i’ve learnt in the same year and during my 10 previous years in security working along side ex Gurkhas, Rifleman, Dragoon guard's and snipers to name but a few is that we all bring our strengths to the table and the best teams are the most balanced.
I earned my stripes working the bars, clubs and working men’s clubs of Dagenham and Romford also Homerton hospital in Hackney looking after all types of public and dealing with the mentally ill.
After 7 yrs in the Walkie talkie building (4yrs in the control room I choose to move out to a wider more varied world to festivals events and conferences. I’ve just returned from the Grand national and have Windsor horse show and Wimbledon championship to look forward to.
I’m seeing a few companies asking for ex mil only need apply, which which makes me feel a little sad that they aren't even giving us 100% civies a chance, well never mind that’s their loss. I totally understand some jobs in Ukraine, Iraq and parts of Africa require that military training but in europe and the UK, no i don’t think so.
So let’s all work and compete together, bring our strengths and get that perfect blend.
