hey guys and girls, I have been thinking about buying P90X, im already in good shape and use the gym alot, but I see the people on there and wonder if its training or the diet plan? or both.

Has anyone used it and would recommend it?

Thanks

Dan

Very good and very hard work. It is well worth the money. The best thing about it is the fact that I can travel anywhere and take my laptop and some training bands and still complete the workouts.
The thing that I really found of most benefit was the Plyometrics because it really improved my flexibility and speed for Krav.
The diet and training go hand in hand for best results.
Once you have done the 90 day's of training they supply another schedule that doubles up on workouts and makes things really hard.
Like I said well worth the money.

It a set of 13 DVDs that are between one hour and one hour twenty long. They cause muscle confusion by not following a set pattern, which in turn stops any plateau in improvement, this is then used with a set diet that is determined by an individuals body profile. It runs for 90 Days without a break and consists of training different parts of the body eg chest and back one day followed by shoulders the next and so on.
Have a look at www.beachbody.co.uk/P90X for all the in's and out's.
P90X just stands for Power 90 days extreme workout.
The training is just actually common sense but it's very motivational and there is a fitness test before and after 90 days to see how much you have improved.

LeeH, thanks mate, think I'm going to take the plunge, love a good challenge!

and nice one Covert Munkey, ah the days of the old 110

P90X works for weight loss.. yes. But then again so does changing your diet and eating a deficit = losing weight without doing anything. It won't build any muscle.

If P90X is getting a tad boring then the new Insanity workout is a good workout. Insanity Workout Routines - High Intensity Workouts from Beachbody UK

I have less than 2 weeks of Insanity left and am impressed that I am still alive ha ha. It's not easy, and month one was NOTHING compared to month two, but definitely worth it and handy for when overseas, as all you need is a bit of space and a dvd player. Oh and a towel to mop up the constant stream of sweat dripping off you :)

Dan, if I may.......

As LeeH has mentioned above, P90X is great especially if you travel a tad bit cos you can bring some of the discs with you or just transfer it to your hard drive. I still do it when I'm on the road but I still lack motivation when it comes to fitness training on my own, other than running.

May I recommend that you also look into CrossFit and possibly Les Mills's Body Combat. I know CrossFit gyms are all over the UK but I ain't sure where Body Combat Would be offered. These are 2 great programs especially Body Combat, it's an hour long class with 50 minutes of almost non stop high impact aerobics modeled after some of the MMA training.

Just my 2 cents mate ;)
