Hello

Gonna get myself booked on with PhoenixGroupplc.com which is taught by a former royal bodyguard.Anyone else completed a course with this company ? I have waited ages to get booked on a course and now here i go :)

Hi buddy,

I completed the Phoenix CP Course on october. This course is called International Phoenix CP because it is taught in Spain instead of Hereford, UK. It is the same course, the same CP instructor, the same FPOS-I instructors. I have learned very much and right now I am lookinf for job.

this course has nothing whatsoever to do with the Phoenix CP course run by G4S and to be honest, it sounds like a complete load of bollox.

SIA Close Protection Course - Birmingham & Nationwide - £999 NO VAT - Includes Exam & Certification - 63300 : Training Course s in Aberdeen, Dundee, Dumfries and 121 other areas covered

Be careful mate. This is a completely different company to the G4S Phoenix training (if that matters). These guys have been hounding me via email to train with them and they offered me FAAW, CP and accomodation for £1200. Seems too good to be true and we all know what that means.

Hey JasonLeake Did you do the course? If so how was it? Any one else have any thoughts? Interested to hear from anyone that knows more about this course.
Many thanks

Hi,

Phoenix Specialist training ran a course of CPO in Spain last year in collaboration with the Spanish company OASI which Daniel1973 attended as a student.

Even it was advertised in a well known magazine in Spain. Apparently there is another CPO course to be run in 2013.

Regards

Sorry to bump an old thread but i am doing this course in july, does anyone have any feedback on it? 2 of my doorteam are on it now, so will relay their feedback when i get it

Hello, new to this and also saw the ad for the Birmingham course. Any feedback prior to a decision would be appreciated. Thanks.

DONT BOTHER! I spoke to these clowns, the pics of this ex royal body guard have the queen mum in then and in black and white! the men have flares! Save your money and till you got the cash for a better provider, thats what im doing!

Nice to see someone with a backbone willing to stand up and say what is a good TP and what is not

hey rift out of comms at the moment mate talk soon

cheers ed

There are tons of answers on this site to answer that question.... feel free to research them, I did hence why I can make a sound decition about said training provider.

What makes them better or worse then another.

Why is a course not just a course.

good point mate all the courses are the same but doing a course with a certain TP will help you out at a later date as in the people training you and the people being trained. Buy cheap buy twice there are good TPs out there its up to you what you want and have to spend if you want to make a go of this industry

hope it helps mate ed

There as always are some extremely good points on this forum and some good advice, it is worth listening to the guys who have been around. Two things G4S Phoenix is our course, i am pretty sure there is some confusion in terms of the other provider but that has been pointed out on this thread. We do run a course in Spain from Alicante, it is taught in Spanish and is purely geared at those individuals who want to enter the industry from Spain. It is fully compliant with UK and is a City And Guilds course, tested in English. Those that attend the course can apply for SIA license, if they choose to do so.

All courses are not the same i think we all know that, however the sound advice given on this thread is look towards as training provider who is recognised in the industry and who may be able to provide opportunities beyond the course.

G4S Specialist Training

Anyone who has attended the G4S Phoenix CP course will be given discount on other courses. Our ATOM course at 25% discount as example.

What i will agree with in this reply is yes G4S can sort out work at a later date.

And thats all i can agree on cheers ed

Hello mate,

Did you do that course? I have just seen the same ad. I recently encountered a Royal Team and the blokes were really helpful and full of advice. One gave me his mobile number and said if I could find out who the former Royal Bodyguard was he tell me whether he was actually one of them or a Walter! Do you know his name. Because those picture look very old.

Cheers.
