Private Hire licence?

Sorry it is serious. Its just that I have heard that chaufers will have to have some sort of carraige or private hire licence. not sure if its correct or when it would apply

Many thanks

There is a requirement for Drivers/chauffeurs to be licensed.
and have passed the checks of PCO license.
However There's always that grey area; of are you acting as security (SIA) or acting as a Driver

London Chauffeur Guide: How to become a London Chauffeur

Sure we've had this topic in depth before, try the search bar top right.

As far as I am aware that requirement is for the London area only. You can get away with it around the rest of the UK.

And what call is there for a security Driver/CP outside London.
85-95% of CP work is based around the grand metropolis of the Capital.
You're right probably,
but it's not covered, as it's rarely needed in the rst of the country,
back to the grey area.

To be licensed as a driver or chauffeur, you generally need to meet age and experience requirements, pass a background check and medical exam, hold a valid driver's license (often with a special chauffeur's license), complete specific driving tests or courses, and ensure your vehicle meets safety and insurance standards.
