Reverse Mobile Number Tracing

Supposedly, this company can reverse search mobile phone numbers, even those on Pay as You Go

https://www.findukpeople.com/mobile-number-tracing

Is this done simply by using CRA like Experian to match up numbers to addresses? (For pay monthly)

For pay as you go numbers, how would this work?

Ghastings,

If you are in any doubt whether or not they are being honest about what they can do give them a chance on a number you already know, yours or a family member they advertise to find no fee!

Locating a mobile number isn’t easy but not as hard as you think provided you know what your doing!

Sometimes google will find it if it’s ever been used as an advertised number.

Many thanks for the swift reply premier. I don't doubt it's possible, more of a question of how it is completed in the UK and what those experienced in the field know about it. Will send you a PM. EDIT: Uh, whoops, seems like the forum is not allowing me to send PMs, which I guess is because my account is new.

It is supposed that the "metadata" collected could help you to to so.
Every time a phone connects to any station it sends a message "hello, this is number XXXXX trying to log on any net, any chance?".
Then the station checks number XXX with it´s operator and accepts or not the connection and the phone user can use the net, may it be his company or another one with agreements in the area.
IF you can access the data from the stations then YES. you can track back the location of a phone.
Problem is that legally you are not able to access this metadata without a court mandate for the investigation of a crime, therefore even if the company gets to track the number you wanted the info is useless (unless you are a kind of person who I do not know but ho has developed a set of skills that I prefer you not to use to find me and punish me...) (Yes, it is a TAKEN joke).

NSA and military services have been using it for ages, even you can set a fake station to get the phones in an area to "connect" to your station and this way not just track but even record all the traffic assuming you have the $$$$ to prepare such operation.
Last time I was offered a mobile phone connection point in the middle of nowhere it was about 4500€ a week with a mobile station and the technicians in a truck with a generator by a commercial company and without the option to track locations and record traffic.
I dare to say that a shadow agency could get it at least as cheap as that if the objective if worth.

Reading the description of their services has not helped me to clarify my feelings.

The company may easily just get the data from the contracted numbers with info from the provider, companies usually have a duty to make public the numbers they are using kind of "find with company is the service provider for number....." that you can easily and legally access.
After this in contracted numbers it would be as easy as getting the address from the contract, and check it with the bank account address (both infos in the service provider data base) to have the "two sources check" the company promises. My problem is that as far as I have always been told sharing this info with third parties is illegal so.
For pay as you go is little trickier, you will need a top up made with a bank card or the like to get the same, illegally again.

Yeah I was thinking along the same lines.

Will try them out soon for curiosity measures... No fee if it fails so no loss

There's a tonne of different ways to "trace" a number, however it all comes down to the aggregated profiling of the number, device, exploits available and more. Not like the movies where you enter a number and it's glowing red on screen. BUT can get close to it.

Hi I am looking to carry out some OSINT reports on individuals. What is the best service I can use to get their mobile phone numbers. Does the above service work for mobile phone numbers...?

Anyone tried it?
