Alright Sam

I have been looking for CP work for a month or two now, but nothing yet.

To be honest I haven't been pushing to hard as I have a full time job.

I intend to get the finger out over the next week and chase up some of the companies I have sent my CV to.

Hi MEN iwas 5udr 5rir joined in 1981 left in 2001 ,i was d coy and e coy i am looking to get to afghanistan escorting work.

Hi Sparkieni, I was 6th Bn Omagh, then we went to 4th, left in 2000, In Iraq at present...at this from 2003....

Uncle Dermotts Regiment only joking

Most of the guys and girls on the forum are aware of the UDR/RIR but are they aware of the dedication of these guys/girls during the troubles in N Ireland. Correct me if wrong but there were the regulars and part time. The regulars worked all hours God gave and then some. The part time had a regular job and after work then patrolled the country. I know my mate who was part time did a days work then went on patrol with the UDR to the early hours, got home for a few hours sleep then off to work again. I know it wasn't for the money as it was not that much. The work of the UDR/RIR took a lot of pressure off the Army and RUC and many of them paid the ultimate price .

Well done lads

Well said TommyS

I was attached to 9 RIR for a year in the early 90's and had a ball.

I was also 1 RIR, the GS Battalion for 4 years.

Frag, do you know if there is anything going in Iraq?

PM me mate if there is.

Steve

Hi all

Am ex 1st Battalion myself 1997 - 2002 been working Convoys and PSD since 2005 in Iraq and Afghanistan. Good to see old boys network on here. FAB.

Did both Full-Time and Part-Time UDR, 77-83.

Both surprised and pleased to see so many on here.

Word to the wise - the 'Op Banner' site is compromised, be warned.

Was B Coy then D Coy Steve before the merge with 7th Batt to make 2nd Batt. What I wouldn't give for an Ops 1 cycle now or doing VCP's in the Lisburn ring of steel. Strange the things you miss eh lol.
