SIA Taxi Licence??

wow you have a CRB once a year i am impressed with that, is that standard for all taxi companies do you know?

Over the water in N.I all taxi drivers are CBR checked when they apply for their taxi licence (every 5 years), then again every time they PSV (Public Service Vehicle) their car, (like an MoT for taxis).

My company does work for the education boards so every year all the drivers have an enhanced disclosure check also.

But I suppose it would be possible for a taxi driver to only be checked every 5 years when they renew thier licence if they drive a pool car.

NVQ L2 in Passenger Safety

I think the reference is being made to the above qualification

(off the top of my head is "Passenger Safety", may have the wording slightly out but thats basically what it is)

This is now available and as many in the security industry who train have chauffeured or driven taxi's at some point they are eligible to train it as they have sector competency. Also not many taxi drivers have the training qual so the security trainers seem to be juming onto it.

Its nothing to do with the SIA ut it is thought that all pro operators will be putting all their drivers through it, my colleagues with the experience have been out delivering it already.

Hope this helps, if anybody required the above course we have trainers available through our main centre in the North West 10 required for the course.

I wont be teaching it as I havent the experience, have never ran a taxi co or been a cabbby. I guess there must be quite a few people out there though who have been on the cabs and doors back and forward over the years, I guess thats also got something to do with why some trainers are able to train both???

There is no official information about an SIA taxi license. It seems like the website you found might not be reliable, as you can't find other sources confirming it. If you need a reliable taxi service, consider using Redhill to Heathrow Taxi for your travels instead.
