Surveillance Detection for CPO's Israel 15-19 February

mts

Security Directors
Hello all

During 2008 we successfully conducted courses for both local and international clients including individual CPO's, corporate EP Details and Government units.

Utilizing our own unique methodology for SD, we are setting the benchmark globally for effective Surveillance Detection.

With the threats forever expanding and diversifying, this is a valuable addition to any professional CPO's toolbox.

Below is a brief outline of our February open registration course.

Included in the course is accommodation in a 5 Star hotel on the Tel Aviv beachfront and 3 meals (of the same standard) per day.

Concept

As hostile intent increases on a daily basis, we are pleased to present our February 2009 [wiki=1597]Surveillance Detection[/wiki] program designed for protection professionals.

This program teaches the protection professional how to conduct Surveillance, how to identify and defend against hostile surveillance and how to integrate these skills with [wiki=1473]Close Protection[/wiki] skills to add protective field intelligence to an already existing skill set.

Graduates of the course will know:

Surveillance:

*How to identify an object's (person and facility) Surveillance vulnerabilities
* How to plan Surveillance activities
* How to conduct surveillance activities
o Fixed objects
o Mobile objects
* How to operate covertly in an environment
* Covert/Clandestine field methods
* How to blend into the environment
* How to communicate in a covert manner
* Integrating protective surveillance and low profile [wiki=1469]CP[/wiki]

[wiki=1597]Surveillance Detection[/wiki]
* How targets are selected by hostile individuals and groups
* How to defend against hostile intelligence collection
* How to recognize hostile Surveillance activities
* How to strengthen facilities against Surveillance vulnerabilities
* How to identify Principal surveillance vulnerabilities
* How to identify mistakes in hostile covert actions
* How to identify surveillance vulnerabilities in facilities
* How to strengthen the Principal against surveillance vulnerabilities
* How to report correctly
* How to plan [wiki=1597]Surveillance Detection[/wiki] activities
* How to conduct Surveillance detection activities

Conducted in Israel, our course has been designed to help mitigate risks posed by modern day threats and is instructed by Israel’s leading Intelligence, Low Profile Close Protection and Surveillance experts. Our program is tailored to enable protection specialists with the skills of surveillance and [wiki=1597]Surveillance Detection[/wiki].

Our approach is broad covering many areas not traditionally covered, but that through our experience covering these areas proves to be a valuable part in the overall understanding of the field craft.

Students are given the opportunity to study incidents of terrorist attacks and assassinations onsite with a focus on pre-attack Surveillance.

This course is designed for [wiki=1469]CP[/wiki]O’s and has a strong focus on kidnap and attack prevention. There is also a strong emphasis on covert field methodology.

It is our philosophy that in order to defend against a sophisticated enemy, one must fully appreciate and understand how the enemy thinks, operates and collects information. It is with this in mind that we put the students in the enemy’s shoes allowing them to feel and think as a hostile
surveillant would.

Instructor Details
This program will be instructed by former Government Surveillance and Covert Protection instructors.

Why travel abroad and incurr costs when quality (Ex Gov) specialist offer great courses in UK, which I may add may come under the SIA Banner in the future. Please don't turn this into another slagging match. JT.

Good question John although i'm not certain what you mean by another slagging match, unless you are referring to your post expressing an opinion that i did not agree with (which of course is both yours and my privilege to disagree in a democratic and free country). If so, no harm done, we are all entitled to opinions and none are taken personally.

There are very good instructors and training schools in the UK, US and elsewhere, no doubt, and I indeed have what to learn from them and continue to learn. Most often (as far as competition in the private sector) we find ourselves complimenting other training schools and visa/versa.

That said, below are some points that sets us apart from some of the pack.

1) This is not a surveillance course, it's a surveillance detection course that includes surveillance. The SIA does not know what SD is. Do you? If not, there is some information on the topic here. This is specialist course and admittedly not for the masses, our costs will attest to that. This course is not intended to be a course to help get the tick in the box by the SIA, rather a course for professionals that want to enhance their skills and build upon a SIA approved course that has been done or will be done in the future. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the SIA courses, this simply is not one of them, nor will it be. There are more skills available than the SIA will ever cover.
2) This is taught by people that have been dealing with Islamic terror, international and local crime on a daily basis and is not classic SD, rather SD that we have developed using techniques from various agencies and years of experience. This is real and relevant.
3) This is an opportunity to learn other and current techniques
4) We have developed our own method of SD and are quickly being recognized as the standard for this. I can safely say no-one teaches what we teach, as we teach it and various government units from several countries are coming to us to learn.
5) Our techniques are constantly evolving to adapt to the evolving threats
6) This takes place in Israel where students can visit attack sites and learn how surveillance was conducted on-site
7) Exercises take place in commercial, urban and "Middle East" type areas allowing the students to practice in "standard" areas and areas otherwise inaccessible. This includes historical and religious sites allowing students to learn in some of the world's most unique sites.
8) Our vast experience with terror equips us to teach students how terrorist operate from first hand knowledge as well as put the students in the "enemy's" shoes with an in-depth knowledge difficult to find elsewhere.
9) Our instructors were not only operational in this specific field, but also instructors and architects of government SD units.

As said, there are many good training providers out there and for the student that decides to go elsewhere, i wish them the best of luck, no harm done. As a very small percentage of our clientele is from the private sector, we, thankfully are in a good position and believe there is enough to go around for all.

I must add that (as a training provider with overlapping services) - MTS is a very reputable and well-established/connected and resourced company - its CEO is very highly skilled and has the highest integrity.

There are significant benefits to training overseas - particularly if it is possible to replicate your likely operational scenario as a result.

Eg - if you will be working high risk Middle Eastern jobs, why not train in an environment that allows you to draw upon the immense operational experiences of your instructors? Immerse yourself in a culture in training, and you have less of a culture shock when you deploy 'live'. Makes perfect sense to me.

Re SIA taking on the remit of SD? That's a scary thought......

SIA TEST ON SD

Tick the following that may indicate you are under (sic) surveillance....

A. Your Counter Team gives you the 'all clear'
B. You detect nothing unusual on your Anti-Surveillance route.
C. Identified 'trigger' points are unoccupied.
D. You notice the same man, for a week, in a false moustache and long trenchcoat on a hot summer day following you and occasionally looking over your shoulder.

Gosh... Are the SIA raising the standard of their question papers?

I can only second Randall's comment above.

A great experience all around. The course content itself as well as the accommodations and general support were all at a very high level.
The unique training environments of urban Tel Aviv and 'more Middle Eastern' Jerusalem coupled with the specific experience of the instructors gave great learning opportunities, particularly for those interested in challenging themselves in 'non-western' environments.

I've worked CP overseas for several years now, but really feel that I added an important new dimension to the toolbox with dedicated Counter Surveillance training.

Thanks MTS and all involved. The course truly surpassed my expectations.

Lion, thank you for your kind words and support. As from Randall, this from a professional like you means a lot to me.

BTW, did you ever "release" your power supply?

Thank you for your patronage.
