When we are called out on a job we go out in Armed Response Vehicles. We operate predominantly in uniform and in marked police cars - we currently use Volvo estates as the standard ARV. We also have the ability to operate covertly using SFOs in plain clothes and using unmarked police cars. Each ARV is fitted with a mobile armoury in which all the weapons and ammunition are stored and locked securely until they are needed
