]Hi everyone

I'm currently a serving British soldier thinking of making a career change.

A little about me:
I joined in Jan 2009 into an infantry unit
Been on 2 operational tours of Afghanistan
Currently a Lcpl
Have been in Recce for about 4 years

I'm at that stage in my career where I need to decide whether or not to start fresh.
I'm currently looking at completing the SIA door license, CPO, HECPO, PMC, MIRA and MSO courses.
Will having these qualifications help me find a worth while job or will I just be another candidate for a contract?
Would love any suggestions on further courses to help me "stand out" and any suggestions on the best providers
For these courses.

Thank you all in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum

Do you mind if I ask you your reasons for thinking of leaving the army?

I myself am looking to join up next year what is causing you to want to change?

Many thanks
Gary

Hi Gary

I've spent a long time building a career in the infantry but I joined in the era of Iraq and Afghanistan so I was Guaranteed to deploy every 2 years. Now they have finished there isn't much to do as an infantryman except the same exercises year in year out. Don't get me wrong I love the job it's just getting to be a bit to stagnant for my liking. What are you planning on joining?

Hi mate

Can't you transfer to another regiment or something? It would be a shame in my opinion to cut your military career short but that's only my opinion.

I was looking into RMP and royal air corps and have dabbled over the idea of infantry but I'm still weighing up my options if you don't mind I would like to add you as a friend to discuss matters further if you don't mind.

Many thanks
Gary
