tips on keeping cool

Evening

Has anyone got any decent ideas for keeping cool while wearing body armour/stab vest in this heat? The obvious solution would be to not wear it but working in Hackney that's something I'd rather not do! Tonight I thought I was going to pass out with the heat.

Would sports style base layers help? anyone got any ideas?

which is fair enough.

Different areas, different risks. London is rife with knives sadly. I don't have a problem with people wearing armour, i have a problem with the wrong armour. No need for bullet in london, but is for knife.

My armour has been used more to stop an elbow...whilst restraining someone for an elongated (see I know fancy words) period of time, their elbows etc can begin to wear on your body, and a bit of padding does this and lets me carry on just fine. But I'm in a different field to door work these days...
 
Base layer is good for being a bit more comfortable is not wet from sweat but tends to make u a bit warmer, I use a sports wicking one in winter to add an extra layer under my stab vest
