Training providers

This thread has probably been done to death, I am looking for a reputable training provider that will give me the best chance of work after successful completion of the course. I will be spending my hard earned cash on this so want the best for my money.

What I am really after is experienced people's suggestions. So far, I have been advised to look at Paradigm, Wilplan, horizon and Ronin concepts.

All advice greatly appreciated.

Your answer is in your post...."Done to death"

Short answer, makes very little difference, contacts, networking and blind luck are generally how you get work.

Horizon, Ronin, Excellentia are the three most talked about for sure, and all well thought of.

There are shed loads of posts about this topic here, read them, you will either be crushed or encouraged, not much middle ground!

Bottom line, it's a tough, shitty, dirty business and you will get f**ked several times before you decide if you can stick it out.

What TMAC says
Regarding the lack of response, as you and he have said it gets asked almost daily.
CP requires a lot of research and the ability to work hard, on your own, think out-of-the-box, read between the lines etc, so if you can't be arsed to do some research about training when you're given a nice search tool then it's not a career for you anyway

Many thanks for the replies, out of the many providers, I've decided to do a bit more research on paradigm and excellentia .

Good choice - when you decide on one (and make sure you give both a call and chat to them) we'll be happy to answer any specific questions you have

I have done some basic research and have come to the conclusion that Ronin UK or Ronin SA or Excellentia are the more talked about and sought after courses in regards to training providers. I am in contact with both of the companies and will update you on my findings.

Thanks

Ronin UK and Ronin SA are not associated ,therefore With Excellentia that makes three training providers.

Hi Premier

I currently live in Surrey on the border of Hampshire which is in the south east of England I've looked at a few training providers and a few of them are up north - I wouldn't rule this out mind you especially if they offer a residential service.

Many thanks for your post

Hi hi guys i think that there are a lot of providers out there and some of which are good at the old chat and as i did i went on a cp course where at the end of it there so no one in the industry that had heard of the provider so i am thankful that there are some people on here that take the time to answer in a helpful manner. Remember people interested in the industry go on courses to learn about the trade and try to gather info from persons already in the industry ie research. Sorry for the way i have responded .thanks again for the helpful hand

Hi

I agree with what you said it's thanks to the knowledge and valuable information the experienced guys can drop down to us new chaps on the block that help a lot research the **** out of the industry before you waste your hard earned money that's what I am doing and have done so for 6 months now and even now I'm still not convicnved due to the feedback from the guys and ladies already in the industry which is making me lean towards plan B which you should always have as a backup!

Nothing is impossible but stick to the well known TP's and put some effort in and you never know.

Good luck

Training

G4S/Control Risk Group both offer training, and have work. Both recruit from their own trainees.
That is something to think of. Most TP dont care about students finding work, while the exam is written they already plan for the next training program. When it comes to Basic cp training not specialist courses there is also PBA, with members and offices world wide, where excellent graduates will be offered opportunities when needed.
When you have a basic course (licensed) there are lots of providers that teach specialist training in protective driving, PSD, Fire Arms, Surveillance, Risk management, Conflict management etc.
But to get there you need a solid cp training and minimum a couple of years experience before moving on to other areas.
