"Former Movements Manager at GoAGT Currently seeking position due to redundancy

As former Movements Manager for GoAGT i find it heart-warming to see so many official parties willing to assist in the plight of the deployed staff, without whom GoAGT would not have been such a successful company. yes, i say successful, in the context that up until recent events GoAGT was an extremely well run well respected company and it is only through the misdirection of the CEO in his financial dealings that has brought this sorry mess about. I along with a number of other former HQ staff / Management are also in a similar position to deployed staff in the fact that we are all owed outstanding payments. We are currently in the process of compiling information to substantiate our claims of irregular financial dealings and inappropriate directorship to potentially assist in any further legal action we may pursue. We will be monitoring this forum closely as it appears that some associated with the group could be instrumental in assisting us. again i thank you all on behalf of the staff both deployed and land based for your concern and support. "

Well I stand corrected.....just renting then...still expensive...residing like a lord eating a tin of beans every day...

Sure , why not... ? "Relatively Civil" will probably get us to the same place ... Nowhere..

It's kinda hard to behave in a "Relatively Civil" manner when you have a landlord twisting you arm to pay the four months of unpaid rent ,when you're looking at the massive overdraft in your bank account and when you feel robbed ,cheated, used and thrown away, but i am sure we will do our best..

How's that for being civil?

I understand this is an emotive issue, but can we keep things factual and relatively civil please.

Sorry, is this something else I'm meant to own that I know nothing about.......! Fail !!

Speaking of things you own but know nothing about. When did you attempted to sell the armory MV Southern Star (it's still for sale on the front page of the GoAGT website) did you realize it wasn't yours to sell anyway?

As the charterer don't you have a duty under IMO regs to ensure those under your control are catered for even if you did wash your hands of it?

Well, E.L was certainly right, it did get interesting before it got better... E.L, wherever you are mate get in touch with me, and the wets are all on me.. You know I am good for it.. Woops, scrap my last, I WAS good for it.. However, few wets won't break the bank...

Bloody hell is flash-to-bang time for getting an insolvency company involved usually this quick in these scenarios?
The article from the Independent ref them going tits-up only came out 2 days ago so has this been in the offing for a while?

Hi all

There is certainly a lesson for the future and that is to carry out regular checks on the companies that you are working for. Not only do you need to do a check before taking employment; it is also wise to carry out checks on a regular basis as situations can and do change.

Here is an example that would give the employee a 'heads up' that things are not right:-

403 Request Blocked

This information is free and the example I have used is the company in question.

Another good practice is to always put a percentage of your wages aside each month into a separate bank account, which you can draw on if or when things go wrong.

Bye for now,

JHD

As you said lesson well learned and point taken..

However nobody could have predicted the downfall ...
It WAS a good company to work for especially in the long years of the recession when all the other companies were sending people home on unpaid leave and all that..
Trust me , i worked for the shittiest companies out there (No G4S or Advantfort.. I haven't sunk THAT low) and GoAGT wasn't that..

Oh, well..

Hi all

I just want to expand on my last post, as there are others areas that you can keep an eye out on that will help give you the potential 'heads-up' when companies could be in difficulty.

One of the areas you can look at is the termination of Directors of a company and here is a great example (look towards the bottom of the page and you will see that two left in Feb 2014):-

https://opencorporates.com/companies/gb/07220994

Another point to look out for is when a Financial Controller or Financial Director (or both at the same time) suddenly leave a company. I would suggest you find out who they are when you join the company and keep an eye on LinkedIn every now and again.

All the best,

JHD

Now I'm happy I did not join them few years back.
I was so close to leave my present company in order to go with GoAGT.
