Ok firstly to whoever reads this i hope your keeping well.... my names smith, I have served 8 years in 2rei french foriegn legion. I have recently completed a highfield international level 3 CPO course in poland. Was recommended by a fellow legionnaire from south Africa. Unfortunately this course is NOT SIA accredited and to that end I can NOT apply for the SIA badge. I seem to be at a loss with my diploma I have recently completed. I have no experience in CPO and would appreciate some advice or guidance from some senior people in this field. For guidance and maybe work opportunities. I appreciate any help guidance and feed back you senior guys and girls could give me.

Many thanks,

Smith

Smith,
You might want to try getting your DS license and getting some experience working in music venues or possibly back stage at some festivals.
If you enjoy long shifts, doing both days and nights then you could do additional training and get your CP license.
I’m sure this route into SIA licensed work will help determine whether or not you want to pursue a CP role, this reply isn’t a joke far from it.
Consider how invested you are in becoming a licensed CPO and then and only then make an informed decision.

I have sourced some work and i am going to have to complete the SIA badge when i have saved up a few quid, cost me an arm and leg leaving the legion BUT all is good. Ill do what i have too, i think legionnaires or anybody serving in the military especially infantry its natural progression to move into CP, i understand and i appreciate the reply. Thank you,

Many thanks,

Smith

Hi Smith,
you would have to complete a close protection training course, before you can apply for an SIA liscence in the UK. We are currently recruiting for our training courses, if you are interested in more information, please get in touch
