One officer fell under the car and was dragged for five to six feet; the other went over the bonnet, police said.

I hope that they make a speedy recovery and are able to get back on duty. I praise them for their bravery and thank them for putting their lives on the line to protect the citizens of London.

I had something similar where a car drove at me and the person was eventually shot by police, they were charged with my attempted murder, several months later I got a note in the police internal mail saying they dropped the charges in court, they didn't even get us to give evidence. They didn't ask me whether I was happy for the charges to be dropped. Jobs fe@ked!!

There was a similar incident in this area. 17 year old, just finished one sentence, released on bail 3 times after subsequent offences, break into a house, steals the car and runs over the officer with the stinger after doing 50 miles some along country roads at 90+mph.
He got 2 years. The officer has been left permanently disabled but is still working.

A lad in Newcastle was "spared" jail for assaulting a police officer, the courts now seem to accept drug abuse and being pissed as a lawful excuse.

To rub salt in the wounds, this is the second time he's assaulted a copper and got away with it. His defence solicitor thought it would be a good idea to remind the magistrates that the home secretary wants alternatives used rather than cell time...

I know when the "District Judge" is working at my local magistrates theres a fear about the place and when other known magistrates are working theres alot of guilty pleas given as they know they'll get nowt!

I was thinking about setting up a forum called softbritain.com but I thought it would drive people insane reading about these problems. Like talksport radio says, we need to put the great backinto greatbritain!

I was stabbed twice in the hand at a domestic violence incident in newcastle three years ago, offender found not guilty for assault but pleaded to affray. 12 months probation , its a shit job. only bonus was i got 2k criminal injuries. the job is well and truly F****D

Indeed...I hope they do make a quick recovery, and I really hope the 2 bastards go down for it, however some ***** will get them off...probably...

Where's the justice?
Where's the respect for justice?
I guess the answer to that is in the 1st question...

I'd had enough of the system failing - bailed out of the UK back in '97'.... found myself saddened to be using the phrase " there's nothing 'great' about Great Britain anymore..."

I'm still very proud to be British...... ......... but that's all I can manage to say about the matter.
