Hoping for some advice...

I have been told that when i book a CP course the provider should be able to give mke a break down in costs, ie accom, foos, trg so i can claim food and accom seperately making the cost of the CP trg cheaper therefore in turn maiking my 20% to pay less.

Does anyone know the answer to this ? As Im dead set on doing the Ronin sa course. I heard I can only get 1000 quid towards it but I'm not sure because someone mentioned claiming for the food and accom costs to make up the money. I don't have a spare 4 grand long story short :)

hi

i did my resettlement in august and did several courses, i was able to use £1000 elc, £514 irtc and i got £800 food and accommadation charges however the food and accom where free but the company i was doing my course with was run by ex army rlc and they give me a break down for course cost which show £2215 training cost £800 food accom,

food and accom comes out of seperate budget along with travel costs so is not included in you resttlement fund, if you get a good provider they will charge extra for accom so you can pay less for course.

i hope this helps a little

Thanks a lot mate that's cheered me up a bit ,really want to do the Ronin sa course and any help I get is greatly appreciated,
Cheers

I done the Ronin SA course, ensure you plan everything well in advance with your ressettle officer. You need to have a good reason to do the Ronin SA course, they are getting more full off shit saying you can get the same Quals in the UK. I payed everything and claimed it all back on completion of the course. Good luck

Firstly, yes the training providers are used to being asked for a price breakdown for their courses to provide to resettlement centres so don't be afraid to ask them. Second, food and accom are separate expenses towards trainings as you are still serving. If you are away on a training course you are entitled to the usual £55 per night towards accom and £27 per day towards food.
You are entitled to upto £2000 towards training courses via ELCAS. They will however only pay upto 80% of training costs. So if for example your CP Cse costs you £1000, you will be expected to pay for the course with a £200 personal contribution (usually accepted as the course deposit), followed by the resettlement centre agreeing to pay the remainder on the successful completion of the course. Again, a reputable TP will agree to this.
Best of luck. Any further advise required, by all means drop me a line

Am in my resettlement phase right now, the best is to find the course you want. The date, contact the company, they will email you a breakdown of the costs. Elcas will then only go towards the tuition cost. You can then use your IRTC grant, get an advance form, fill it out, which will cover 80% of the remainder you need to pay. Then all you should have to pay is the 20% which you can claim back after completion. You cannot re-claim elcas. That is bollocks, you have to do the paperwork which takes 3 to 4 weeks to come back. So get it in early. Key is to email the company you are going for, they are all over it, they know everything you will ask. good luck

the amount of money you get towards the course depends on the amount of time served. 8 years plus you'll get 2000, anything less 1000.

Im doing ronin concepts in august. I claimed £1000 from elcas. you get a claim number from the course provider, fill out the application form and send it off to the address on the elcas website. it is a 3-5 week turn around from what I understand. you take the claim form you recieve from elcas to the course on the first day. with regards to food etc....not sure, sorry. this is the only way I know of doing elcas claims.

Agreed 8 yr service you will get £2000 as long as the provide is ELCAS registered if the course is residential you well need a non-availability then claim £25 day food £80 a day accom. you claim this as an advance of pay. but the resettlemnt paper work is heavy going presaver and you will get what ever course you are doing paid for, any mor questions pse in box me in fairly clued up on this from errors i have made in the claiming process

Regard Josk
