The missus is a game changer no matter what we men like to think. I'm not far from retirement myself and the wife has already planned how that's going to play out. I say go to OZ for a few months, then to the UK, then back "Home" in the good ol USA. That way you'll get differing levels of oppression which always makes for a balanced life.

Correction; After reluctantly going on a "Female Appreciation" course, many years ago, I knew that I had learned nothing about the inner working of the female mind. [background] The UK Intelligence agencies just knew that those Commie bastards would send sexy women to entice them into giving up any and all Intel, so they set up two Indoctrination Courses to teach 'at risk' people how to not to get trapped by female 'spies'. Interesting concept, however, most UK spies were/are woofters, and apparently still are, so a bit of a waste of time. Just paused for ten minutes remembering the two instructor trainers... They must be in their late 80's now... Oh the books that they could write...
It covered more than why women get pissed off when the toilet seat is left up. The deep psychology of which is really interesting as goes back to the stone age. Now, where were we?
Oh yes, Howardk, sorry I drifted off a bit there. Main reason for leaving is the poor health of my wife, and the inherent corruption of the so called Medical Health System in this Country. Our experience with these charlatans has been one of greed, piss poor training, lack of understanding of almost anything more complex than a head cold or a badly broken leg. Oh and more greed. So far we have paid the arseholes more than $450,000.00 to systematically and slowly kill my wife. (There are people in this County that haven't earned that in the same period.) My wife has had two 5 hour emergency surgeries in OZ in the last three months, both paid for privately. Neither were planned. Total cost, including round trip from Savannah to Melbourne Business Class less than what the local American Hospital charged for three nights 'observation' and one scan. When I heard that on the second day of her being there, that she was 'in theater' and having a 5 hour 'Emergency Operation' it got close to you seeing the aftermath on TV...
So, we won't be coming back once we leave. We live in a 'Dead End' road. Neighbour at corner of main road 200 yards away, only other neighbour diagonally across the road 75 yards away. Lee has been in OZ since the first week in November. Not one single inquiry from any of her "Church friends" or directly from either of the neighbours. I would understand if it was me away, but not Lee... Somebody please buy our house; it's lovely here; on three acres, orchards behind and across the road, you can buy any sort of firearm in the local chemists (except full auto) with a Georgia driver's license, and ammo in Walmart. Obviously, Walmart sell AR15's as well as regular long guns and some pistols. If it wasn't for the piss poor medical crooks...
