IMSA Ltd provides professional Ship Security Officer Training carried out by MCA & TRANSEC accredited trainers with the highest levels of maritime security experience and a first-hand; in-depth knowledge of the maritime security industry and the provision of maritime security.
The aim of the SSO (plus+) course is to provide a Ship’s Officer or Maritime Security Operator with the knowledge and skills to carry out their duties as a designated Ship Security Officer or a Maritime Security Operator in accordance with the ISPS Code. In particular, the successful delegate will be able to:
• Monitor, optimise and manage Ship’s security systems and processes
• Motivate and train the crew to perform security duties
• Implement and maintain a Ship Security Plan
Additionally, the delegate will receive additional modules that will enable them to have a better understanding of the Maritime Security sector and their role in it.
Delegates that complete the course are better prepared to gain employment in the marsec / anti-piracy industry. The anti-piracy module is not just about boots on the bridge and hardening the ship. We instil the necessary credibility required to gain the delegate that valuable confidence of the Master and crew. The industry does have Best Management Practice (BMP) and a Security Code of Practice which need to be understood.
This course offers you the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification and endorsed by leading Maritime Security Service Providers.
It’s a very challenging market out there and the costs to a fledgling operator to get qualified with the common certification and competancies required by the Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSC) is expensive. Being at the forefront of ISPS training since its inception in 2002 IMS Associates are fully aware of the costs and time involved so to that end we offer one of the most competitively priced SSO courses that combined with the (plus+) gives the delegate on an IMSA Ltd course more than a tick in the box.
